My wife and I have dined fairly often at Morton’s and have been generally pleased. This evening I have to say it was not up to its usual standards. The crab cocktail was top notch and delicious. I had lamb chops which were very good and my wife had the ribeye that was NOT very good. It was extremely tough which is certainly odd for a ribeye. We might have just concluded it was an uneven night if not for our server, Jaimie. The service was not satisfactory at all. She had no time to answer questions because she had to take care of customers at the bar. She rarely checked in with us so when she finally appeared and my wife noted the the ribeye was tough she proceeded to tell us that it was tough because of the marbling. Really? She then added that the ribeye was always the toughest and that strip steak was the tender cut of meat. So this is completely incorrect and if you’re going to be a server in a steak house, you should be able to speak knowledgeably about cuts of meat. Once my wife told her about the situation she disappeared. She clearly told the manager who came to the table and offered my wife something else which was appropriate and appreciated. When she came back to the table, she did not ask if my wife was enjoying her filet. And disappeared again. I have no idea if she was disconcerted because we were two women dining - but she gave markedly different service to the husband and wife beside us - engaging and personable. That was not the service Jaidie provided to us. There is another fine steakhouse in Pittsburgh that seems to value our business much more. While we have enjoyed Morton’s we may evaluate whether we want to return based on this occasion.

Andrew's Steak and Seafood

My father, brother and I went to this lovely restaurant the Saturday night before the largest football game at Heinz stadium and it didn't disappoint my brother or myself. They had a 4 course meal for $75 with many great choices off of the menu so my brother had the Calamari, Caesar Salad, Surf & Turf and dessert. He enjoyed everything that he ordered and wouldn't stop talking about how wonderful the food was. I ordered off the menu and received the Steak Tartar and the Seafood Linguini - both were excellent. Possibly the best seafood linguini I have ever had. The steak tartar tasted delicious - the presentation needs to be addressed as it currently looks like an uncooked hamburger patty on a plate. Perhaps if the beef were chopped instead of minced it would present better. In fact, due to the presentation no one wanted to try it. hahaha but I love steak tartar and had no problems eating it. My father had the special 4 course as well with the crab cake, caesar salad, New York Strip and dessert. He enjoyed everything but his steak and that is the reason for the 4 vs 5 stars. If I could give 4.5 I would. It was not a good cut of beef and at a steakhouse this should not even be a possibility. He explained that the cut was not good and was brushed off. Now in saying that our server was wonderful and attentive, however, there was an issue two tables away that I am sure had him distracted when my father explained about his meat. The atmosphere is very nice and clean. Service is wonderful. All in all a good meal and you will not leave hungry as portions are a very good size. When I go back to Pittsburgh I will eat here again and I would recommend it.Michelle, thank you for visiting and we are glad you enjoyed your meal. We will be sure to share your feedback with our team. Thank you!

My wife and I received a couple of gift cards for Ruth’s Chris. We decided to celebrate our anniversary there. The mood was very somber inside the restaurant. It wasn’t your typical fine restaurant with the buzz of diners enjoying themselves. The salads were good, as were the potatoes and Brussel sprouts. We were disappointed in our steaks, after everything we heard about Ruth’s. We were hoping to have the best steaks we had ever had in our lives. That’s what diners do when you’re paying the most you’ve ever paid for 2 steaks..........these steaks will be the best we’ve ever had. Well, they weren’t. And we’re still searching.

I wasn't expecting much as I've been to a few pretty great Brazilian steakhouses. But I have to say this one is the best. Their salad bar and soup choices are limited, but I go there for the meat so that doesn't really bother me. The steaks selections are plenty and I can tell they are quality meat. Pork and Sausage selections are just ok, so I would recommend sticking with the beef. But if you're a beef lover, you would want to be here!

We wanted a nice sit-down dinner on our last night of a long Steelers weekend. Steak & seafood are both featured here & we had a little of both. Our waitress connected with us immediately -- it was a quiet Sunday evening. She was welcoming & carefully explained the menu, each unique item & especially appreciated -- she said the sides should be plentiful if we had 2 -3. The shrimp was a preparation I had never had, swordfish was meaty, steak & lobster rocked ! Lemon drop martinis added bonus as the bartender had a heavy hand.

With the popularity of farm-to-table, global cuisine, boutique restaurants, sometimes the classic steakhouse gets overlooked. While I seek out small, creative, independently owned restaurants, sometimes I just want a good old steak. Capital Grill is one if my favorites in any city and the Pittsburgh location did not disappoint. My husband and I only sit at the bar when dining out. This is a nice size bar with that old steakhouse feel. Our bartender was great and we enjoyed a couple of cocktails before opening a bottle of wine to air out before dinner. We had calamari for an appetizer and it was excellent. My husband and I each had a ribeye steak, cooked perfectly rare and shared the lobster Mac & cheese. It was a great meal and great experience. Highly recommend!
