Water Castle

In 1914, The Water Castle (Castelul de apa) was opened. Considered an emblematic monument to the people of Severin, it gives identity to the city by being built in one of the major traffic roundabouts of the settlement.

It’s such a nice place to walk around, quiet and lovely and the fountain is great to watch, there are many places to eat in the area but none speaks English you need to get farther from the park for it

We visited the archaeological Park. It is well maintained and with lots of signs. We saw the roman baths, the theatre, the castrum and the food of the bridge built by Trajan. Very nice place with garden overlooking the Danube.

Cetatea Medievala a Severinului

Built in 1230, it had an overwhelming importance from the military point of view. In 1524 it is attacked and destroyed by Turkish troops led by Baliteg-Pasa. Severin Fortress or rather the ruins of the fortress are located in Dragalina park from Drobeta Turnu-Severin.

Beautiful ruins! A place you must visit. A walk back in time to dacs time. Newly renovated (2016). You can see Danube river nearby.
