You wouldn't expect outstanding Chinese food on the shore of the Arctic Ocean. However that's exactly what you find at this tightly packed little gem near the Barrow airport. You can dine I , carry out or have food delivered for free. A couple locals told me that residents of nearby Native villages phone in carry out and have it delivered by the next bush plane reaching their village!
Be prepared for sticker shock when you read the menu but remember this is the high Arctic where everything costs much more. If you are in Barrow overnight or for a few days you simply must try the cuisine here. You won't be disappointed

Niggivikput-'our place to eat' is primarily a dine-in establishment, located in the new Top of the World Hotel. The restaurant takes pride in serving reindeer soup of the region which is similar to the traditional caribou soup eaten by the locals as a form of their subsistence lifestyle living off the land just as their ancestors have for generations before them. The restaurant staff greets you with a smile and a warm welcome which is the Inupiat's way to invite people to share their bounty. Feelings of enchantment envelope as you gaze out the windows overlooking the breath taking views. There is a delicious aroma coming from the open kitchen where you can see the chefs preparing meals. The menu features American cuisine with an ample supply of items to choose from for any pallet; land, sea, light or hearty and superb cheesecake options for dessert. The restaurant is open daily serving upwards of 90 patrons in its main dining area. Please come and enjoy the great food, wonderful atmosphere and fascinating company.
Open Kitchen. Clean. Friendly. Breakfast, lunch & dinner served. Nothing great but not bad. Ample & comfortable seatting with beach views.
**Many other restaurants had odd hours or only offered carryout.
I ate all my meals here. Note the coffee was a bit weak with little caffeine.

From the choices in Barrow this pizza takes the pie. The crust is done perfect and has a good bite to it. The sauce is zesty and delicious. They have lots to choose from. Even you don't go for the pizza, all the food was good. Definitely recommended.

I was getting tired of eating in the hotel restaurant and didn't want to take a cab to a restaurant so I ordered delivery from East Coast Pizza. Really glad I did. The pizza was delicious and was delivered very quickly. They accept credit cards which was nice. The delivery man was very friendly. Will be ordering from here again.

I have been to all of the restaurants here is Barrow, and Cruz's by far is the best. It is a take out only, but the food is amazing and the portions are worth the money. If you're looking for something a little different than the usual burger and fries, that every Barrow restaurant seems to have, then stop by Cruz's and take home some delicious Mexican food. The few times I have been there, there was a line to order... Probably because they're so good. Nice warm feel when you walk in the door, and the staff is extremely friendly. This place has better food than some of the Mexican food places back home.
This building also shares it's space with Lilliana's Bakery. Most likely a family run co-op. I think I have been in there enough that they just ask if I want my usual (chicken enchiladas).

Great restaurant with a mix of American & Japanese food. Open late. Friendly staff.
We went for the sushi and were not let down. Being a sushi lover I have had it all over Alaska and the lower 48. This place is my top 3 anywhere in the USA. Everything we tried was delicious and the guest service is outstanding. The chef even gave us the special of the day free for all of us to try. My new favorite place. Definitely recommended.

If you're getting hungry around noon time, SHOGUN (Japanese/Korean/Chinese food) is the number 1 choice, their lunch buffet will fill you up. The friendly service and mouth watering food will worth for a visit. It's located next to King Eider Inn, about 2 minutes walk from there. If you just came out from the Barrow Airport, it's on your right hand side, about 5 mintues walk. I am a Chinese that is picky about buffet style restaurant, I would recommend Shogun for your hungry stomach. The lunch buffet is $12.00. (They also have dinner menu)
