Top 8 Other Outdoor Activities in Rhodes, South Aegean

September 18, 2021 Florencio Paulino

The largest of the twelve Dodecanese islands on the Aegean's eastern edge, Rhodes is also its most popular. The well-preserved medieval city of Rhodes sits at the north of the island of the same name. High rise hotels line the northern and eastern coastlines. Small villages and resorts dot the island's other shores. Whether your interests are beaches, bars or ancient sites, Rhodes offers an abundance of all three. Authentic Greece can be found in the hilly interior of the 50-mile-long island.

This is one of my favourite villages to visit when I go to Rhodes. Lovely shops, restaurants and bars and although I have never stayed there I know there are many lovely hotels to choose from. The avenue of eucalyptus trees is magnificent and has to be seen to be believed, they seem to go on forever.

Spent a week at the Akti Imperial in early June, must say this turned out to be a excellent location & great choice of Hotel The staff at the Akti were very attentive & very helpful, the food in the restaurants was excellent with plenty of different dishes to choose from, the bar service was faultless with a extensive range of local & premier drinks. The pool areas are well maintained , along with plenty of sun beds, what more could you ask for. I also tried the Greek bath & massage in the hotel, very good indeed, very relaxing surroundings. The beach area for the hotel is just a short walk away under the by pass about 2/3 minutes. All I all a great holiday with nice surroundings and good company.
