The landscape is dramatic—even a bit moody, with the Cuillin Range in the background—but outdoorsy kids will have a blast on the Isle of Skye. Plenty of water sports are available, and you’ll also find great hiking and even pony rides. Portree, the largest town, makes a great base for exploring this striking island.

Clay pigeon shooting with Matt was absolutely fantastic! First time for both of us and we had an amazing time. Fun, safe, and competitive. Matt makes you feel relaxed and at ease immediately, fires kept us from freezing too too much, and we were both able to hit quite a few! Would recommend clay pigeon shooting for anyone visiting Skye - and you get to meet famous Blaze the dog too!

One hell of a walk! Wear walking boots to get there as very rocky, hilly, boggy and lots of stones and quite a hike Our 6 year old managed so anyone can do it really Really worth the walk to get there The only disappointment really was when we got there loads of jellyfish so couldn’t go in the sea. Kids loved it, rockpools galore. We saw lots of sealions too when we went for a walk Spent a lovely day there Highly recommended when the sun does come out!

The most amazing walk and beach away from the tourist traps of the big sights. This was my absolute favourite day of our whole trip. It seems off the beaten track so was very quiet. It is a difficulk hike though so you would need a level of fitness as good walking boots.
