The history of the foundation and formation of the Gelendzhik Museum of History and Local Lore is inextricably connected with the history of our country. Political and economic transformations, revolutions and wars, the change of state power, undoubtedly affected the development of the museum. Over the past more than a hundred years, the museum may be said to have been "born" three times: in 1909, 1920 and 1949, it was closed twice. The museum consists of the head museum and two structural divisions: "House-Museum of V.G. Korolenko" (opened May 21, 1964 in x. Dzhankhot), "Battery No. 394 of Captain A.E. Zubkov" (opened April 12, 1975 between the village of Kabardinka and the city of Novorossiysk on Mount Penai).
