One of my go to spots for years. The quality of the fish is amazing. Beyond fair pricing. Fun, casual service and a great soundtrack. You really can't go wrong.

Went today for lunch as a couple – so good! One very mild (citrus broth Yuzu Shio sea salt ramen ($11.90) combo ($16.90) with Kakiage Don extra in the form of rice bowl and fried veggie- oniony-savory pancake (delicious) and absolutely powerful Spicy Miso Ramen (oh-so-good) with complex broth and just enough spice to enjoy the bottomless bowl of soup with al-dente noodles and spikes of fermented bamboo and seaweed. Perfectly intact (not chipped) ceramic bowls are literally bottomless with ramen – had to ask for doggie bowls, which was delivered nice and fast (thank you). The liquid yolk egg in Spicy Miso Ramen would greatly benefit the dish (the egg was hard-boiled), but otherwise it was a five stars meal. The kitchen-table harmony (Washoku) is all there with fast and neat service, plate presentation, food quality and the cozy-well-designed-beautiful interior. The musical baritone guy accord echoing the “arigato” of the cooking/serving team while entering and leaving is a blast - leaving you happy and smiling for the day. Simply great!

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner. Everything was superb. The ambiance was great. The service was excellent. The food was outstanding—we had edamame with sea salt, miso soup, seaweed salad, sashimi and a roll. Everything was very fresh and top quality. We also had an excellent Rioja that was spectacular for the price. They brought a complementary desert for my birthday which was special. We will be back every time we are in Montreal.

My first time here; I sat at the bar, wanted to have a fast supper before seeing a movie. I ordered three tapas, the marinated tuna, wasabi squid and code fish, all delicious. The staff super friendly. Valerie served me at the bar, great service and advised me what to have, thanks a lot! She even told me to try the green tea cheesecake, yummy! This place is very busy, better to have reservations.

The sake is good. The appetite, too. The curry rice bowl is not impressing, not cheap either. As I said before, when selecting a restaurant from a foreign country one should be careful because now there are lots of Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Indian restaurants on saint Catherine, among which many are only providing good by family members. The geniun ones always have professional cooks whom are well paid, so they make good food to attract dinners always.
