The restaurant has a great la carte menu, of which one can pick 3 or 4 course menu. Main dishes are meat, fish and vegetarian. Multiple Side dishes are served with it. Price for 3 course dinner is less than 30 Euro. Excellent kitchen! Personal touch of the chef makes one feel at home right away. Atmosphere is cosy, and style of interior has some interesting railways artefacts. I can strongly recommend this restaurant!

We hebben hier met een kortingsbon gegeten. Als Assenaar een leuke gelegenheid om eens kennis te maken. De bediening was prima. Het eten was ook niet veel op aan te merken. Het restaurant is verbonden aan de Messchenstaete waar met name ouderen wonen. Dit straalde wat uit naar het restaurant, waar we bijvoorbeeld om zout en peper moesten vragen. Het stond niet standaard op tafel. Maar dat is de ambiance. Op het eten was niets aan te merken!

What a gem. Wonderful ambiance and decor. Elegant setting and brilliant helpful and friendly service. So - a really good start! The food (Michelin Star Standard) was divine. We chose the 5 âsurpriseâ courses with the associated wine flight. Some lovely textures and flavours superbly presented. Chef clearly knows what he is doing!Special mention of the wines they chose to complement each course - each one perfect and often unusual but another delight. This is probably one of the best reviews I have ever left and if I could score 6 I would. Really hope to be able to return.

onverwachte topper in Roden, we hadden eerst gemikt op Mensinge, maar daar viel de huiswijn (op het terras) en de vriendelijkheid van de bediening tegen. De brasserie het Theater maakte een goede indruk en het menu met twee mooie gerechten; een smakelijke en best geraffineerde vispalet en een prachtig stuk superverse kabeljauw als hoofdgerecht waren echt top. De bediening was erg vriendelijk en attent, zowel de witte als de rode de huiswijn waren beduidend beter dan in Mensinge. Ook de eindafrekening was een aangenaam slot van echt een heerlijk diner

Never been to this restaurant before and we arrived when the heavens had opened and we had to dash to stay dry.Service is a little slow but the menu appealed to us. Not pretentious but good food. We will certainly be back here.Thank u!

The restaurant is based on a square with many different restaurants and bars. Entrance is large and spacious. However for a cold night the door just opens into the food area. So if sitting close you might feel a draft.The restaurant serves several menus, of which the 'Bib Gourmand'is excellent value. Strangely enough though if you do not eat the whole menu, you pay more (so two courses are 40 euro and three courses in the menu is 37 euro... strange). Starters were thinly cut beef (very nicely done) or fish. Main again meat (duck this time) or fish (cod). Both also prepared nicely. Dessert (for the ones taking it) was prepared really nicely. A panorama of mushrooms on a bed of earth and grass... (see photo)Bedankt voor u mooie reactie. Wij vonden het fijn dat u een mooie avond heeft ervaren. Graag tot een volgende bezoek.Om nog even uitleg te geven over een 2 gangen menu. Wij serveren alle gerechten los met de daarbij horende prijs (op de kaart en de website vermeld) En om een voordeel te hebben is het voor de gast aantrekkelijk om 3 gangen te kiezen, waarbij we de prijs die de Michelin aangeeft hanteren.

The location was adjacent to our hotel but made me take the risk eating here was that as we walked but the person who later waited on us was patiently helping a gentleman with a walker out of the rerestaurant into his awaiting car. The menu is based on the number of courses that you want. We opted for the entree and dessert. For the main meal, you had a choice of beef, fish or vegetarian. Next he offered complementing side dishes. For dessert, there were samples of multiple desserts. The meal was excellent-even for an extremely selective eater. The desserts were fantastic. The entire experience was extremely enjoyable both with the food and interaction with the young man who guided us through our dinner. It made dining a pleasure.
