This cafe located behind a petrol station doesn't look very inviting but the food is honest, good and the welcome friendly. There is a board of daily specials where you can have a plate of pasta followed by a meat course for just 10 euros, vegetables, drinks and table charge not included. I had a huge (and I mean huge) chicken salad for 7 euros, my husband had a plate of pasta with ragu followed by a large pork chop (cooked on the open fire at one end of the room special, 1/2 ltr of wine, 2 coffees and a cake and we had change from 25 euros. There is an outside space, under a tent , where smoking and dogs are permitted.Fridays expect a fish menu and It does open in the evenings.There have been specialty nights serving Mexican etc but the best food is Italian.The downsides are that is on the forecourt so traffic noise is very audible, it does get very busy with workers coming for lunch and its not that big a place so it gets full quickly.

Ottimo posticino! Molto elegante, si mangia benissimo ottimi prodotti con ottima qualità !Ho mangiato un "bico" che è la loro specialità ! Farcito con il mondo dentro ed era fantastico! Assolutamente da provare! Poi visto che c'era anche il panino ai cereali ho assaggiato pure quello, e con i pomodirini secchi le verdure grigliate era fotonico! Ancora é come se me lo stessi gustando!I proprietari e i ragazzi sono simpatici disponibili e cordiali!Ottima musica, di qualità e si sente che ne conoscono davvero!

Wonderful cafe, atmosphere with both young and old is pleasant from morning to late in the night. The two young waitresses were very attentive and the lady behind the bar (Amy Winehouse look alike) were both extremely helpful. Young man when on shift wasn't so attentive, never looked outside to see who was needing drinks. He could learn from the excellent ladies working there.Only negative is the smoking. The umbrella's hold in the smoke and it smells awful. As much as we enjoyed the cafe our 3 kids found it increasingly annoying to the point where we ended up at another cafe for breakfast. Just wish they could either stop smoking on the terrace or at least half for smoking/half not. As most of their guests who spend that little extra come with their family, it's a shame for us parents not to enjoy the mix of young and old soaking up the Citta della Pieve atmosphere. just kindly asking you to do something about the smell of smoke held in the terrace by the umbrellas. Otherwise would thoroughly recommend visiting.

It was a late night in Siena as we headed back to our villa in Paciano. We called our friend and she recommneded Pellicano for a late night treat of good food and drink. The pizza was Excellent along with the wine, pasta and tiramisu... A great stop to watch the Calcio game that is on and great for families.. Large inside for parties and get togethers.. Open very late too. A must try.

La Sosta di Giano is new and I think of it more as a bar in the Italian style. Meaning that it's a place to go for a great cappuccino in the morning and enjoying a cornetto while you're at it. And I think of it as a great place to relax with a beer or glass of wine in the evening. They do offer snacks, hot dogs, etc. as well. I believe that with time the food offerings will be expanded. What's really special about this place is the fact that it is located right in the middle of Paciano's charming little piazza. The service is great and if you're Italian language skills are weak don't worry because these guys speak English.

Stopped for a quick lunch in the sunshine, and really enjoyed the salad with burrata and charcuterie type selection of meats - it was delicious! We like to visit Pieve at least once a year and this was my first visit to this restaurant and I'll definitely go back. Waiter was great, food faultless. I didn't give a 5 only because we ate a stand out 5 here the same day and the two don't compare, other that this place would have been a 5, make sense?!Grazie lo staff della cantina

We ate at the Caffe a few weeks ago while in the area. We were hungry early, so couldn't wait until the usual 7:30 dinner hour. We stopped in here, since it's a pub and they have a nice wine selection and some pub food. When we asked the waitress for a menu, she was not pleased that we wanted something other than drinks at 6:30. They do offer burgers and we got a really tasty Chianina beef burger. Too bad the grumpster left a bad taste in our mouths.

Six of dined from a wonderful menu featuring such a variety of meats including game, local truffles, excellent pasta and the hosts were entertaining too! Add that to a top celebrity film star and family dining there too, a wonderful experience. Great wine list as well! Wish we ciould return soon!
