We were there off season, so none of the attractions were open. Beautiful well marked walking trails.

After you've seen low tide in the area bays and rivers as well as at the Hopewell Rocks, this is a great place to watch high tide charge into the McClures Brook (as wide as a river). This park-like area has plenty of parking, lawn areas and a large posted chart noting the high and low tides for each day of the month. For the tidal bores occurring at night, time activated spot lights start shining about 15 minutes before the tidal bore is expected. These lights can be seen from the Tidal Bore Inn on a bluff just across the highway. This park is located across from the Exit 14 exit ramp off Route 102. It was a great education learning about the tidal ranges and tidal bores in this Bay of Fundy area.

We went here mainly to trace some ancestors who lived in Truro from about mid-1800s to mid-1900s. The museum portion on the main floor was great. Looks like it was newly renovated and has a lot of nice, clean, displays. The artifacts displayed were interesting, although sometimes the there was a bit too much text. There is a really neat spot in the back where there's a fireplace with a TV that plays relevant videos.
The archives, however, were lackluster. While at first glance it looked impressive, with what appeared to be a large room in the back, there doesn't seem to be much available to researchers. They have some prepared genealogy (which is great if you had an influential and important family for the area, not so great if you had someone who wasn't a founder), some community histories, maps, newspaper clippings (and microfilm), a few books, and a couple directories. We paid our $5 fee and started to look around. Asked for assistance but neither of the two workers in the archive centre were able to help much with our request and seemed totally lost when trying to figure out what sources we could look in (we had exact birth dates, where they lived (down to streets), ancestors and decedents, occupations - we were well prepared when it comes to genealogical research, far from rookies), and offered little guidance towards what resources they might have. Left with absolutely no new information, not even a hint as to where we might be able to find any information about our ancestors. While the museum was nice, the lack of anything substantial in the archives still leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Only really a few of these left around town. If driving around with kids they will probably spot them and may find them cool looking.

I visited the new library for the first time this week. So interesting to see how the old "Normal College- teaching academy" was transitioned to become the regional library. Lots of space, computers, labs and of course books. A group was meeting in one of the spacious rooms playing some sort of game. There is a historical room, however mainly military history to look at. The facility is inviting, warm and staff are friendly and helpful. Notices on the billboard advertise upcoming sessions for a wide variety of subjects. The website shares a lot of information. Now that I made the effort to visit I will definitely return sooner.
Nice to see the civic square in front of the library has a public skating area for the community and could entertain persons with you, while you take in the library!

Specializing in seconds and clearings of Stanfield's products we recently enjoyed going and getting quality products at bargain prices. They had several Hot Chillis products and we bought about 10 pairs of socks for a $1 each! We also bought several pairs of underwear ( a Stanfield original) as well as sweats and wool undergarments for skiing at very good prices.
This is a true outlet store!
