Great River State Trail

This area is supposedly cyclist heaven, but I don't find most roads to be bike-friendly. The trails offer that level of safety despite the occasional road crossing. They are amazingly well maintained, which means they are also patrolled. Have your pass handy.

Perrot State Park

Wisconsin park that is home to Brady's Bluff and the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge.

A friend and I were on a bike trip to the Trempelau area and decided to get some hiking in as well.
Perfect place---- Perrot State Park!!

Rainy day, but that wasn't going to stop us.....we did a couple trails, both along the Bluffs. (Brady's Bluff) Beautiful!!
We were a little worried about the trails getting slippery but never a problem. Hiking up wasn't as bad as I thought either-- trails were safe and footing safe.

Reaching the top was certainly worth it!!! What a view!!
There were a few different options for hiking down. The route we chose was also safe and easy to get down. Lots of wooden steps with handrails when needed.

A really beautiful Park with great trails!!

Ecker's Apple Farm

Reviewed By JoAnn16 - Forest City, Iowa

This is an apple farm and you may pick your own. Wow...what fun to walk among the row upon row of apple trees...some of them so heavy with the weight of the apples that the branches are almost ready to break. They are so easy to pick you end up with more than you bargained for. The weekend we went they were having a special celebration...oh my what what fun !! There was a fire pit to warm yourself by...or just relax. Live music that was very entertaining. They have frisbees and cornhole for the kids. Things to buy and more than you needed of things to eat. The apples were 1/2 price if you wanted to pick your own...so there were bargains galore. If you don't care to pick there are plenty of kinds for you to choose from. They have fresh apple cider, caramel apples, fresh or frozen apple pies. If you wish you can even crab a bite to eat there...ahhhh fresh apple pie with ice cream...YUM :) I guess the best part was this was all free...so many orchards are charging so much money...they have things for the kids, but, really...how many parents ride the "cow train" ? And...why should you pay $$$ to watch your kids...what a rip off. This is a super friendly apple farm and you pay for what you want and everyone goes away happy. I am excited for next year

Very interesting area with beautiful little Falls out front. Nice picnic area in front of mill. Admission fee to enter the mill and it must be cash only they do not take any kind of plastic at all!! The staff member in the mill was very friendly and had a lot of info but we were unable to tour the mill or see the mill wheel due not having green cash with us :-(
