Traveling from Arenal to Monteverde we passed a sign for Waterfall la Piedra. We met Alejandro who offered us a tour of an ancient rock and waterfall located on his family property. The views and waterfall were spectacular! He pointed out many unusual plants and their medicinal uses and gave us a brief history of his family's farm which we found extremely interesting. Bring a camera and hiking shoes. The mosquitoes we liked the least so be sure to wear long pants and bring pest repellant. We spent an amazing time with this engaging young man and this was the highlight of our trip.

This was my favorite thing that I have done throughout my two months in Costa Rican! It is so beautiful with 4 gorgeous waterfalls. It is hidden and when we were there, we did not see anyone else! You get to see 4 waterfalls for only $12. It was definitely the best deal that we have had in Costa Rica! Great swimming and views. I highly recommend!
