Waveney Stardust

To provide safe, subsidised and enjoyable river cruises for the disabled and/or elderly, including their family and friends; who would not otherwise be able to access the pleasures of the Broadland Waterways. Waveney Stardust cruisers are designed to accommodate people in wheelchairs and are suitable for all passengers with walking difficulties. Our boats, equipment and operational procedures are all designed to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers and crew . The cruisers are available for half day or full day hire with their crew of volunteers. Cruises may be booked by organisations, hospices, nursing/residential homes and also for family groups where one or more members are disabled or unable to board a self-hire craft. The cost of hiring Waveney Stardust cruisers is heavily subsidised by the management committee through generous donations, fund raising events and from the sale of souvenirs on board. Operation of the cruisers and its administration are all carried out by volunteers. Our qualified skippers and crews all undergo regular training. New volunteers are always welcome.

We recently spent a delightful couple of hours at this glorious little museum in Stalham. it is entirely staffed by charming enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. Despite arriving quite close to closing time we were still able to enjoy a wonderful steam boat ride and be given lots of valuable and interesting information. Bob and Ian were great hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our all too brief visit to see them. We will return to stay longer and absorb even more! Thank you.

We visited today for the Breakfast with Santa experience! What a great time we had. Everything was so well organised and our breakfasts well up to the usual excellent standard despite them being extremely busy. Santa was an absolute delight and the children were thrilled with him. The face painting lady was an added bonus we had not expected. The gifts were very novel and all in all it was a really great morning and really good value for money. Well done Vera’s! (and Thanks and Merry Christmas to all your excellent staff)
