The folks at Moorea Activities Center run a great operation, provide more value-for-money than anything you can conceivably find in an excursion company and are a customer-first business. . . I used them 3 times on my inaugural trip to Moorea a couple weeks ago and they are one of the finest excursion companies I have come across. Benjamin (owner/operator), Patrick (Benjamin's father/business coach), Oliver (ATV tours) and Amou (jet ski tours) are a great group of guys. I unequivocally endorse their activities. . . taking an excursion with them will likely be the highlight of your vacation to French Polynesia. . . it definitely was for our!!!

First of all, the service was great! We got the buggy delivered to our place, and that was the place where we left it at the end.
The car is kinda funny, a little buggy with a weird engine, but it served the purpose! We had a lot of fun cruising through the island and into the most interesting paths like the Pineapple road, etc.
Our car didnt let us down and faced no issues at all.

They've built an incredible set of ziplines here. One pass through takes about half an hour, and you can go a second time for free on the same course (they have multiple courses). Though the company is based on Moorea they also do hikes on Tahiti which is where we did our hike. We wanted to hike to the Fautaua Waterfalls, but they were closed so Arnaud, our guide, recommended another hike on a mountain ridge with gorgeous views of Point Venus and the North/Northwest side of the island and it's mountain/valleys. Arnaud had a great knowledge of the local flora/fauna and was super laid back and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning with him and his son. He was very giving and offered to share his water and snacks with us as well. He went slowly and was very helpful in getting through tight spaces and tricky spots. We had previously driven through the Papenoo Valley road on our own so elected to do the mountain ridge hike with him but if you had one day in Tahiti there is a trail in Papenoo that would include some of that inner island beauty with your hike. You absolutely need to get into the middle of the island somehow or another. Tahiti Evasion is a great way to go as they were on time and pleasant to spend a day with and very reasonably priced.

I stumbled on this little shop a few minutes from Fenua Mata'i'oa, where we were staying, and it made my 16-day vacation in French Polynesia truly special. I purchased a beautiful nylon string guitar there, and having such a nice instrument to play every day overlooking the beautiful Polynesian Islands was a pinnacle experience. Woody Howard, who makes the guitars, was very accommodating, let me play the various guitars he had for several hours, made adjustments to the action, took off a couple hundred dollars because the front of the guitar I liked had some scratches on it, and took extra care padding the soft guitar case for the plane ride back to the US. At US$1800 it wasn't cheap, but it's an instrument I have gotten a lot of pleasure from, and anticipate playing over the years. If I get back to Moorea, I'll stop in again to see what new guitars Woody has on hand.
