Had a celebration after a funeral in one of the rentable shelters. Liked it so much we are thinking of doing a family reunion here every other year.

Shelters including grills, electricity and a fireplace. Plenty of cover if it rains. Bathrooms a short walk away.

Good hiking trails and awesome overlook just beyond Woodburger.

Little Stony National Recreation Trail

Little Stony Falls offers great views that are easily accessible with a fairly easy walk. There are three major waterfalls that all offer stunning views as well as fishing and swimming areas. The trail totals 2.8 miles, and I highly recommend the whole trail, however the three waterfalls can be viewed in the first mile of the trail.

The Devil's Bathtub

Reviewed By Lagiles08 - Morristown

Very beautiful place. Beautiful drive through Scott county getting there. I would suggest driving SUV to this location, especially if you get lucky enough to get parking at the trail head. Muddy, steep, washed out road up to trail head. Secure you valuables. It's a 2 mile hike from the trailhead parking lot and 13 river crossings to the devils bathtub. Water was shallow at the crossings. Be very cautious, rocks can be very unstable and slippery. I would suggest wearing heal strapped sandals. I pack a pair of socks to wear on the hike back out. Hiking pole very handy, especially crossing the creeks. You will hike among large trees, canopies rhododendrons and jagged rock walls. Definitely, not the place to wonder off trail. Check the weather before you go. Severe storms, can cause flash flooding in this area. Bring plenty of water during summer months. Gets quit humid! The hike to me, is moderate, but you will have to rock scramble some and the trail is narrow in couple spots. A rope is tied off to the trees, to help you in these locations. Once you are there it is so worth the hike. If you are taking little ones bring along life jackets. The pool is deep in spots and drops off quickly. Water is beautifully clear and very cold. The only disappointment on this hike, is the trash that people leave behind. If you are unfortunate, not get parking at the trailhead expect to walk uphill for a distance. Do not park on the edge of the road near any of the private property locations. You will get towed. Weekends are not a good time to go. To crowded. Stock up on food and supplies in Gate city. Ft Blackmore VA. does not have a lot to offer. Very small little town. Local people are very friendly and helpful.

Central Drive-In

Central Drive-In offers a unique experience for those who have never been to a drive-in. It usually offers two movies at showing. They have a small concession stand that offers some pretty good food such as hot dogs, popcorn, etc. Very few drive-ins still around so I am glad this one continues to be open. Kids love it and it makes it easy on those who have a small child but still want to see a movie.

Beautiful vineyard and fantastic wines! Tour of vineyard was offered with a glass of wine in hand, and also a great country luncheon with homemade meatloaf, fried potatoes, soup beans, mac and cheese, and luscious cornbread muffins (not sure if that is always available as we were there on a special weekend), Opie and the owner spent lots of time talking with us, answering any questions and offering lots of history of the area.
