A dilemma! What to do on St Lucia on Christmas Day? No presents to open, no relatives to visit or to invite for Xmas dinner. But we found the solution in a traditional St Lucian custom—Xmas day beach barbecue excursion!
Denver Sava of Shashamane Experience together with his able and genial helper Dylan, picked us up at the Marigot Bay ferry dock, and together with another family with two teenagers, whisked us off for an all day adventure! Sava’s solid and seaworthy motorboat (see website for image) was perfect for coastal exploration and Dylan pointed out all the Beaches, rivers, and villages as we headed south along the east coast of St Lucia. Even a huge molasses pipeline assembled monthly to load a ships cargo from the beach factory.
Shortly after b noon we arrived at Anse Mame and disembarked onto the loveliest sand beach imaginable complete with palms, a fresh water stream, and thatched umbrella barbecue stations! Snorkeled at both ends of the beach while homemade charcoal was lit and red snapper and king fish were cooked “en papillotte”! Coconut, pineapple, banana, all super fresh and tasty wee appetizers along with peeled sugar cane stems. The fish, served with rice, carrot salad, and plantain was perfect! We found lobster while snorkeling and almost got one to barbecue—but it was Christmas.
Relaxed then on to view the Pitons from sea and landed at the incomparable Sugar Beach for more relaxing and snorkeling. Water so clear and fish so plentiful it was all like a dream—including three foot long squid cruising like a formation of F-16s!

This is the fifth year that we have sailed with bateau mygo chartered catamaran "splendor of the twin peaks". It has become the highlight of our Caribbean cruises
Starting with making your reservation with Ella and ending when you are dropped off back at the cruise dock you will be in for a memorable day. This year our group of ten was picked up promptly at 8:30 right at the cruise ship dock by captain Loundi and his mate Mark. The boat is yours for the day and the crew is there to please. Cold pitons,
Rum punch and a delightful selection of snacks are there for you as you sail along the coast towards the pitons. Several snorkeling stops and then you sail into Marigot bay for a sit down lunch at chateau mygo restaurant. You are truly in paradise (this is where doctor Doolittle was filmed) . A leisurely cruise back up the coast to Castries brings you back to the cruise ship and the end of a really remarkable day

I would highly recommend Brian at Kriss - he was amazing! He went to church with some family members and not only drove them but also sat with them during the church service. We took our family to Jade Mountain for dinner and didn't realize it was an hour and half horrible road. It was pouring rain and some roads were washed out but Brian was an excellent driver and made us feel safe the entire time. We used him every night at dinner and requested him to take us back to the airport when we flew home. Very nice guy and very good at his job!

Our family of 5 spent an amazing day on Kieran's boat. Kieran and Rosa welcomed us aboard at 9am; he brought towels and the cooler was fully stocked with drinks (including 2 bottles of Prosecco). Kieran and Rosa showed us around the amazing, beautiful coast of St. Lucia. They brought us to a spot where the kids did cliff jumping, showed us a cave from Pirates of the Caribbean and found a pod of Pilot Whales a little further out on the Caribbean Sea. We saw all the amazing Bays of St Lucia and stopped in Soufriere where Kieran had arranged for us to be driven to the volcano for a mud bath and to the waterfall. For lunch Kieran took us too a great restaurant on a beach. After lunch Kieran showed us local fruits in the rainforest. We ended the day with some snorkeling. The whole day couldn't have been more perfect with 2 amazing hosts.

My husband, I and two of our friends chartered Binti for a special snorkel trip in July, 2014. It may be the best thing we did our entire trip to St. Lucia. The ship is beautiful, Joe, the captain, and his wife are super friendly and accommodating. Seeing St. Lucia from the water is definitely worth it. We discovered the great snorkelng area between Anse Chastanet and Anse Mamin thanks to Joe's suggestion (north from Anse Chastanet by the pier - phenomenal).
We never felt rushed or ignored. They served us an amazing home cooked lunch and let us be as relaxed as we wanted and let us snorkel for as long as we wanted to as well. We all joked that we felt like celebrities for the day. Thanks to everyone at Binti for an amazing day!!

We carry all the products of a full fledge supermarket including a selection of Gourmet food items.Owned by two French Men Xavier Ribot and Laurent Poyen, the French influence is visible in the range of Gourmet products you can find in store. Xavier Ribot, also a renowned Chef, is known for his excellent French Caribbean Cuisine which you can sample at his famous Coal Pot Restaurant in Castries.

Handy supermarket if you are in Marigot and can't be bothered to go to the supermarket on the road to Castries. There is a good selection of groceries, snacks and drinks and the staff were friendly. Its more expensive that the large supermarket, but very convenient if you are staying in Marigot Bay and need to stock up on milk, bread and some beer etc

During our stay in Marigot Bay, I enjoyed three massages by the very talented masseuse at Le Spa Marigot, Merlika. Her pressure was perfect and she seemed to know exactly where I was sore. My daughter and husband also had great massages from Lada. The price is about $60 US an hour and the location is at the entrance to Chateau Mygo restaurant. This is a small establishment with two massage rooms. There are no saunas, whirlpools, or steam rooms, but the massages were all very top rated and appreciated by our group. We highly recommend Merlika and Lada for your services. I wanted to take Merlika home with me she was so great. After a long flight a great massage is the best preparation for a vacation. Thank you Le Spa Marigot.
