This museum is just a small community museum, but what a surprisingly interesting and large collection. Spilliaert, Panamarenko, Ensor, Minne, Wouters, Magritte and the list goes on and on. The retrospective of Robert Doisneau came as an unexpected bonus. Some good books in the shop.

strange that this museum is so little known. Paintings and sculptures from one of the most renowned artists of the previous turn of the century. No admittance asked, which really makes it a must!

Popular with the staff of the various nearby EU institutions, Place Luxembourg offers a nice selection of bars and restaurants. Especially popular on sunny summer evenings! The square also hosts events, including a weekly market, adding more choice for the an after work drink and a bite to eat.

Place du Chatelain

Reviewed By rossorobot - Vienna, Austria

Every Wednesday afternoon/evening there is a small market with veritables, fruits, Italian/French gourmet food, pastries, and small delicious snack-places. There are bigger markets like the one at the South-Station, or more famous at Flagey, or more fancy at Sablon, but this is my favorite one, it combines a bit everything and I like the area a lot! -Go there!!

Casa Natal de Julio Cortazar

Reviewed By Trainbleu - Brussels

Apart from looking up at the second floor of the house where Argentine writer Julio Cortázar was born on August 26, 1914 and Reading the commemorative plaque next to the entrance there isn’t much to do here because the house is not open to the public. Cortázar only lived here for a very short time anyway because his family moved to Switzerland to flee the war. But just opposite the house, under the trees lining Avenue Lepoutre, there is a rather tormented-looking bust of Cortázar (1914 – 1984) by Argentinian sculptor Edmund Valladares on a high pedestal (2005), which is worth a glance.
Avenue Lepoutre, off Place Brugmann, can easily be reached by taking tram 92 (Fort-Jaco) on Rue Royale or at Louise to ‘Darwin’. From there a short stroll along Rue Darwin takes you directly to Place Brugmann. Architecture lovers should not miss the opportunity to explore this pleasant residential area of Brussels boasting several listed buildings of various styles.

Eglise de la Sainte Croix

Eglise De La Sainte Croix is in my opinion a really beautiful looking church located in the always busy area of Flagey in the Ixelles district of Brussels.
The design of the church divides opinion with some people who really detest the style of architecture,I personally love the mix of art deco and gothic architecture,it looks really good and pleasing on the eye.
I never got the chance to go inside of the church but I found the structure very impressive.
Well worth checking out.
