Museum about hiding and resistance in difficult times. The museum highlights everyday life during WW2 and the personal choices that people had to make at the time. The emphasis is on going into hiding in occupation time.

Great place to hang out for a couple of hours! Go back in time and get a feeling of what WWII was like - its an experience kind of like the anne frank museum- without a two hour wait. A must - see in aalten!

Vriendelijke vrijwilligers (vooral dames) die achter de balie staan. Ze geven goede uitleg van wat er in Aalten te beleven valt en wat je in het museum van Aalten kunt verwachten

Ter ere van een jubileum een etentje gehad bij De Neeth. De pannenkoeken waren echt erg lekker (goede smaakcombinaties op het menu) en om het toetje was bijzonder smakelijk.
De sfeer is echt Achterhoeks: gezellig en rustig (zowel qua aankleding als mentaliteit). Mooie ruimte (niet te groot, maar ook zeker niet te klein).
Conclusie: aanrader. Oh ja: er is ook een mooie speelzolder voor kinderen tot circa 12 jaar.

Altijd leuk om met de kleinkinderen even binnen en buiten bij de dieren te kijken. Lieve aaibare konijntjes.
Het sanitair zou wel een opknapbeurt kunnen gebruiken. Misschien ook een kindertoiletje (laag) er bij voor de kleine bezoekers?

A small, well restored and nicely decorated Synagogue, built in 1857. For nearly a century it was the centre of Jewish life in Aalten, until World War II. During the war, it was robbed and used as an ammunition depot. After the war, the Synagogue fell further into disrepair. After restoration, the Synagogue was reconsecrated in 1986 with a solemn Hanukkah celebration.
