We walked for a day from Hermigua more or less following the El Cedro stream passing the waterfall, making a roundabout south of El Cedro area and back to Hermigua. Several hiking alternatives but rather steep and only for the sure footed. Also easy walks are possible in this fascinating forest.

Very beautiful area. Generally cute buildings with the exception of the rather eerie abandoned buildings at the waterfront. Lots of fine if rather strenuous hikes. At least two excellent restaurants. Recommend staying in the southern part of town at a fine apartment hotel and good starting points for walks.

Audioguided visits: last entry at 18:30h. In one location, a traditional orchard and a restored Gofio Mill with a large antiques collection exhibition. La Gomera is an island which, up to 30 years ago, most of it's economy and lifestyle was linked to agriculture and farming. Still deeply settled in their culture, it is a basic insight in the spirit and landscape of an island that still feels like settled in ancient times. In our open farm and exhibit you can learn and see how the gomerans lived, survived and worked. By the ancient Convent and Hermigua original settlement surrounding the river, it is an exceptional landscape of palm groves, cornfields and small family houses.
