June 2, 2021 Deane Carmody

Antiparos (Greek: Αντίπαρος; Ancient Greek: Ὠλίαρος Oliaros) is a small island in the southern Aegean, at the heart of the Cyclades, which is less than one nautical mile (1.9 km) from Paros, the port to which it is connected with a local ferry. Saliagos island is the most ancient settlement in the Cyclades, and Despotiko, an uninhabited island in the southwest of Antiparos, is a place of great archaeological importance.

One of there most magical beaches we have been at in over 30 years across every part of Greece in the Summer. Avoid the crowded sandy part and anchor your boat on the northern part, close to the beautiful rock enclave. You will never want to leave.

Fantastic beach, but I preferred to stay on more secluded part of the beach behind the small church where you have more privacy but no amenities or shade. The water there is super clear and turquoise without any seaweeds and deep enough for great swimming. The surrounding and views of Despotiko are stunning. Of course the main part offers tavern to satisfy your tummy. Also form there you can get the boat trip to Despotiko Island with the Captan Sargos, at the end of September it was needed to call him, the departures from marina start from 11:00.

Soros Beach

Great! The second beach I visited after spending morning on Agios Georgios – Saint George beach (about 7 minutes away) on my scooter day trip from Paros. Laid-back beach with crystal clear water but for me too shallow, but for family with kids perfect. I did not rent posh sunbed with umbrella, just laid the towel on gold sand, there was some natural shade under the tree. There is tavern just right on the beach, but I did not eat or drink there.
