Tangerang (Sundanese: ᮒᮍᮨᮛᮀ, Chinese: 丹格朗) is a city in the province of Banten, Indonesia. It is about 25 kilometres (16 miles) west of Jakarta. It is on the island of Java. The city is the third largest urban centre in the Greater Jakarta region after Jakarta and Bekasi; the sixth largest city in the nation; and the largest city in Banten province.
