Caribeans is the origninal bean-to-bar chocolate factory in Puerto Viejo. Chocolate is made right in the cacao forest. Tours of our factory include: all-you-can-eat gourmet chocolate, the chocolate forest hike, and the "see how we do it" factory tour. Regular tours are Monday 10 am, Tuesday10 & 2, Thursday 10 & 2, Friday2 pm, and Saturday 2 pm. No reservations required. We also have a full service coffee and chocolate shop. Our coffee is fresh roasted farm to cup and delicious. Our chocolate is all hand made and organic. Breakfast, Fresh smoothies, sandwiches, ice cream and much more.

After being a little tired of the noise, chaos and general untidiness of Puerto Viejo it was a treat to unexpectedly walk into a little piece of chocolate heaven. The room is very inviting and the different opportunities for chocolate are very well structured. I treated myself to a coffee and chocolate tasting menu. The coffee was a strong Costa Rican version (I had a latte) and then three very different local chocolate tastings. It was all introduced with care by the lovely lady. To top it all, they had a nice chocolate lounge playlist to support the sweet vibe. I will be here every chance I get. ❤️

Luluberlu is a local Art Gallery and boutique in the centre of Puerto Viejo. It is the story of Natacha, a french artist famous for her mosaics, moving to Costa Rica. This is located on a very bumpy back street and sticks out of its surroundings because of the colorful front. The mosaics are amazing - both what’s for sale and also the floors. There are unique gift items at all price points. Highly recommend a visit.
