I loved the fish market so much, I went both days I was in Arica. (Granted, the second day it was really more to show my newfound friend, but still, I enjoyed it just the same on Day 2 b/c we were treated to a sea lion who kept coming out of the water to pose for us, and a local gave us some fresh mariscos!). If you're interested in seeing sea lions, pelicans, seagulls and other birds go into a feeding frenzy, fighting over the guts and scraps from freshly caught and cleaned fish, I highly recommend going to the wharf. After, you can check out the fish market and buy some delicious ceviche for 1,000 pesos or so.
