Maggie's Farm

Me and a friend ate at Maggie’s yesterday for lunch. It was really a nice experience. Staff was very friendly. Place was was nice and cozy. Menu is very limited. The focus is pizza but yeah the pizza is really good. We ordered the white Chicken Bianca and yeah would definitely recommend it. Pizza is so hard to rate because there are so many pizza places now. Is it the best pizza I’ve ever had? No but certainly not the worst. It’s definitely there own style. Crust is really thin which is fine because I like thin crust but the crust is not crispy which I tend to like better. Anyway all in all I enjoyed the pizza. The best part to me was the soup. I wasn’t intending on getting soup but the waitress asked if I would like to try one of there soups they were offering for the day. I ordered the tomato soup and yeah it was amazing! I would say best tomato soup I’ve ever had. Definitely order soup of the day there because they definitely hit the mark on there soups. Also I ordered the cup instead of the bowl and wow. It was more than enough. Unless your sharing the cup is more than enough. A+ on the soup! If I had one suggestion it would be to expand menu a little. I don’t remember any appetizers on the menu and we normally like to get appetizers. But yeah would I go back? Yes I would definitely go back.

If you like wood-fired brick oven pizza, this is the place for you. We had the Lunch for 2 for $19, which was a pizza and 2 soups and/or 2 salads. We chose the Sweet Angelo pizza, which was just delightful, sweet with a little honey, tomato, mozzarella, pickled chilies, and soppresata, which I think is another name for pepperoni...anyway, it's great! My husband loved this pizza, he just asked if we could have it for supper too. I told him maybe!! We both love this kind of crust, chewy and so good. Our lunch companions had the salad...I should have ordered the salad instead of soup. Big salad with croutons, tomatoes, prosciutto, and pickled onion, which they gave to me. Yum!! They ordered the Keeping it Local pizza, pesto, goat cheese, caramelized onion, red pepper and tomatoes. They liked it a lot. The menu has lots of interesting items that I'd like to try. Our terrific server was Cierra. It was a lovely day so the big doors to the front were open. Had a great time, super food, and we will go back.

We were in Iowa City for a graduation. Also it was Mother’s Day. We had a fantastic meal with great service. Many in our group got pasta fishes. My wife got a tuna fish and I got a pork shank, which was huge. All of the food was excellent.

I was told this was great pizza in Iowa City but I was disappointed. The sauce was good and the pizza was salty. Ordered Pepperoni & Sausage, plus a ham and pineapple. Both pies had a stiff crust - not burned - with small holes poked throughout. The crust did not bend, except at the center where it was soft from being slightly undercooked. In the restaurant, everyone in uniform made it seem like a chain restaurant, not a special or unique environment. The toppings were good but the crust was so disappointing, I dont plan to go back.

Stopped in for lunch today. They were busy but tables were moving quickly. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and salad and she had unlimited soup salad and breadsticks. Food came out quickly. My bowl for salad was dirty as dishwasher hadn't checked it. Salad refill was quick when needed. Our server did a fantastic job of checking multiple times on us. Spaghetti was good basic pasta with sauce.

Basra has excellent Italian food, you cannot go wrong at this location. Their homemade spaghetti and meatballs are the best. The pasta is homemade fresh from their kitchen. On Sundays they run specials on this item. Our server was top notch, and in to customer service. At this establishment, you cannot go wrong, well worth the stop.

We choose Monica's because it was rated so high on TripAdvisor. While the interior didn't appear to have much charm, we sat outside next to a beautiful flower garden and water fountain. The menu is huge with numerous pizzas named after various local univeristy athletic stars. They run daily specials and I had the meatball sub with onion rings (about ~$12) on special while my wife had the pork schnitzel with mashed potatoes. A bottle of local wheat beer was $5. The food came out before the bread and oil! The bread on the sub was soft and the 3 large meatballs tasty. I would have like another laddle of marinara sauce though. The schnitzel was good but the star was the mashed potatoes which I believe had cream cheese. We'd go back again to try other items.
