Taupo seems to have all the best Indian outlets in Nz!This is no exception. Great flavours, good servings and well priced. The menu has all the regular offerings along with indo-Chinese and âIndian styleâ curries. The Indian style ones are amazing and a cut above if you like real Indian but be warned - hot is exactly that. If you donât like chilli stick to the standard butter chicken Delivery service was quick and friendly.

Our hotel receptionist suggested this restaurant and said itâs very good. She was right. It was dark when we arrived, otherwise we could have enjoyed a view of the lake while dining. We started with Indochinese noodles as a shared appetizer. Hot, spicy and delicious. The naans were very tasty. I had gobi (cauliflower) and my husband ordered dal (lentil). Our son had the lamb curry. The gobi and dal were very good and stuck to traditional authenticity. I didnât eat the lamb but my husband and son enjoyed it. The service was friendly.

We went here for dinner. Had veggie samosas for entree followed by butter chicken and a lovely lamb dish and steamed rice. Had to have mango kulfi for dessert. Although the serving bowls look small they are so filling. Well recommended. Might be best to book as it was full all the time we were there. Dear Guest, Thank you for your kind words for us. Although looking average from the outside, you can be sure of some of the best Indian/Nepalese dining anywhere! The food is to die for! Well presented, fast and friendly and absolutely delicious! Our entire group commented on how they enjoyed everything from the Mango Lassi to the beautiful deserts! Highly recommended for sure! Came here off the back of being no1 rating and also recommendation. Starters weâre 1/5: unauthentic paste tikka chicken and awful onion bhajis.. literally had a plate full of scraps.Curry was pretty good. Outrageous that I asked for some onion to accompany my curry and I got charged for â an onion saladâ $5?!?! Seriously wow! Disgrace wasnât a salad at all! Never in 30 years, 25 counties, 10,000+ Curries has that happened. As a former chef and restaurant manager I will say the lady waitress was absolutely fantastic probably the best service Iâve ever had which is why I gave it a 3 instead of a 1.Charge big money I expect tasty, authentic food Dear Valued guest, thank you so much for taking out your valuable time to review us. Firstly Starting from your positive feedback, thank you so much for kind words for our great staff member and lamb rogan josh curry you had. Secondly about your not so good experience you had at our restaurant, we would like to apologise for the bad experience you had at our restaurant. As a former restaurant manager and chef, when asked by a lovely staff member about your entree â you should have mentioned that they are not good and we would have happily change it or suggest you different dish to tryâ. Unfortunately we canât replace it if we donât know. We donât claim to be perfect and we do make mistakes but we happily accept it and replace or refund it. Now in regards to your comment about onions salad- every restaurant is different the way they present their onions salad. We do it this way and we had no complaints so far. Unfortunately everything comes at a cost and i am sure you know better being a former restaurant manager and chef. The price of onion salad is already mentioned on the menu so we didnât charge for something which is not mentioned on our menu. We already provide complementary appetiser to all of our valuable diners. I hope this satisfy all your concerns.
