The only “palace hotel” in the Algarve, and part of the select club of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, is now revealed in all its splendour, providing a unique experience in the south of the Portugal. Characterised by the rich and decorative architecture resulting from the restoration of a 19th century palace, while preserving its original features, the Pousada Palácio de Estoi has 63 rooms, French-style gardens, an outdoor swimming pool with a view of the sea and the mountains, as well as all the amenities of the 21st century. The Reception area is located in the old Chapel, which, with its Luís XV style, is dedicated to the Sagrada Família. In collaboration with the Faro Municipal Museum, the old reception area will now host a new space for exhibitions forming part of a museum collection dedicated to the history of the region and its various : Roman, Islamic and classic influences. The mix of Neoclassical, Neorococó and Art Nouveau styles continues to be visible in every corner of this Pousada, including its salons, which now feature more classic furniture, a new colour palette that harmonises with the frescoes and two distinct languages in the two restaurant areas, serving lunch and dinner in a variety of themes, in addition to a new outdoor deck.

Reviewed By DavsueWestYorksWonderful Hotel and a nice mix between the old and modern, a good welcome at reception. The bedrooms were large, including the beds and exceptionally quiet. The pool and outside area again was outstanding. We really couldn’t fault the hotel and most of the service, however we didn’t have a good evening meal. The staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing, not very attentive, wrong order, it wasn’t the usual service you receive from a pousada.

Charming and historic house, with exceptional host
Reviewed By dave sWonderful old building. No on-site parking but parking on street close by was easy. Catarina met us and showed us round after a welcome complimentary drink. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she explained the history of the place as we walked round. Our room was good and decorated in the way you’d expect for such a historic building. The bed, however, was not the most comfortable. Breakfast, taken in the converted stables, was basic but perfectly adequate. Didn’t need the fresh orange juice to be watered down though. There was an honesty bar where you helped yourself and noted on a sheet against your room name what you had taken. Not an idea that would take off in the more touristy hotels of the Algarve methinks!! Hotel had a small pool outside, but this looked more ornamental than functional, and far too cold in November anyway. Overall, an excellent one night stay en route inland, and I have no hesitation in recommending it to fellow travellers.

Reviewed By Nathan DThe apartment was clean and tidy and well set out, it was pretty cold outside but there are two air conditioners that warned the place up. We had a little balcony and all Windows had electric shutters meaning that no light gets in in the morning, every place should have these, amazing! You pick up a lovely breakfast basket each morning, pretty simple stuff, but tasty. There it's a nice pool outside but the weather was a bit colds for us to use it. there is a supermarket and small town 5 minutes drive away. Isobel and her brother are very welcoming, saying that we could contact them if we had any problems, not just during our stay in the apartment but all the time we are in Portugal! Really friendly and helpful. We originally booked for 2 nights but extended to 4 and may go back at the end of the trip.

'Fantastic Private Villa Holiday' away from the hustle and bustle of the town
Reviewed By themonk11The owner Carlos was fantastic, he is easily contactable by phone/text and sorts any problem out quickly. The Villa and pool were amazing, we had a super holiday as the pool is a really good size. The pool is waist high at the shallow end and I was out of my depth at the deep end (I am 5'6) It was a gradual slope at the deep end, so the pool was ideal for my 5 year old at the shallow end. The pool was perfectly clean and the water was great too, as it is their own treated spring water. The villa is set in the mountains in a quiet location, so you definitely need a car to get provisions for your stay. The local Lidl was easy to get to for food and drink. There were 4 sun beds and a double bed outside for lounging around the pool and hammocks in the shade. A couple more sun loungers would be good if everyone was around the pool at the same time, but our party of 12 were in and out of the pool at different times of the day, so it wasn't a problem for us. The location of the villa is completely private and it was very tranquil being up in the mountains. The Villa and grounds are a good size and the views are super. We dined outside every evening, as it was still nice and warm and there was good outdoor lighting. Carlos and family are lovely and helpful and were there to greet us on arrival and to take keys when we departed.

Located on a hill Villa Monte do Casal is a villa with six bedrooms, each room accommodates two people with private bathroom, luxurious living room, large terrace. The Villa Monte do Casal has a large infinity pool with panoramic views of the ocean natural countryside and the islands of Culatra and Farol, two waterfalls, a small lake, a gazebo grill for outdoor dining and spectacular garden. Located fifteen minutes from Faro International Airport, Villa Monte do Casal and one of the best places to visit in the Algarve and spend the holidays with family, with beautiful beaches, historic towns, great restaurants and amazing golf courses around. Our six bedrooms host twelve people, but also and can rent the whole house or just one room. In both cases it will have a fantastic experience in one of the finest places to stay in the Algarve. The rooms contain mahogany furniture and hand-painted tiles. They also have comfortable mattresses, sheets 100% cotton, fitted wardrobes, luggage rack and Ganco feather pillows. The bathrooms of the rooms are equipped with mahogany furniture, basins with white marble walls with Italian tiles, shower with separate controls, safety railings, Shampoo, soap and fresh towels. Each room has a terrace with tables and chairs. In the outer areas of the Villa there are spectacular gardens with two waterfalls and koi filled with stones; an infinity pool with steps that were beautifully designed with water virtually reaching the terraces tiles; a spacious living room with a beautiful wooden ceiling with beams and terracotta floor, from South Africa; a place to prepare barbecue, covered and equipped with kitchen utensils. Enjoy this oasis in Portugal, stay at Villa Monte do Casal.
Beautiful place to admire the sunrise and sunset

There’s ia big swimming pool and a jacuzzi outside, unfortunately the weather was cold and I couldn’t use them As a photographer it was a paradise because you can see the sunrise and sunset without move. It’s amazing
