We went there for breakfast/lunch on the morning of the 4th and it was packed!! We got seated with in 10 miuntes or so and ordered lunch and breakfast items and when are food came it was hot , fresh and very good. The waitresses were very busy and friendly.

Ordered the special for six bucks--eggs, toast, potatoes, sausage and coffee. Potatoes were not smothered in grease. Eggs were well cooked. Coffee had unlimited refills. Quite a bargain, having coffee included! Will definitely return!

I have eaten at Mel's at least 10 times and have always enjoyed it. It is not pricey. It is not a tremendous atmosphere. It is just a good breakfast. Nothing fancy, but not paying for fancy either. I enjoy the sausage and cheese omelet. I also enjoy pancakes or French toast. When I can spend as much at McDonald's and eat here for a little more. is really is no comparison. I will be at Mel's.

Went in with friends just beer and wine. Bread with the meal was soggy not good. I like good bread with my meal. I had a Ruben with fries, not the best I have had. Fried green tomato were ok. I am so sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations and we appreciate your feedback. We will be looking into this today to narrow down the problem and improve it. This is an unusual comment on the rye bread and I am now wondering if your sandwich was made with the kraut on the bottom causing the bread to be soggy. Hopeful you will come back and try us again. I hadn't eaten here for several years and probably will never eat here again. I tried it again last week with a friend and had the driest hamburger ever in my life. It was supposed to be a half pound burger on a large bun but was more like a 2 inch round meatball on a large bun. I requested no lettuce, tomato or mayo but it was served with mayo anyway. I ended up not eating the bun. My friend ordered bacon, eggs and pancakes and received only 1 small pancake with her order. It was all very disappointing.
