I suppose modern dining has become a lot about the experience as much as the food. Aria works on all levels. This was my birthday but if you are a tourist to Sydney this would be your quintessential dining experience. The service is excellent. Attentive and helpful. The food is magnificent. Key local produce presented superbly. I like fine dining and this is at its best. The wine list is excellent and the Sommelier is skilful. The soufflé is to die for!Hi Cymbid,We're happy to hear you enjoyed all aspects of your dining experience with us. We are especially proud of our extensive wine list and knowledgeable Sommelier team.We hope to see you again.Kindest, Team Aria

Why Hemingway’s Manly? Ernest Hemingway called Paris his home in the 1920s because, “The most interesting people of the world lived in Paris at that time,” (Pablo Picasso, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Coco Chanel, etc.) and apparently because the monetary exchang

A night out in Sydney to a recommended place. Absolutely well worth the visit. The food was great and the service too. I'm not a great steak eater as it often disappoints, but very happy to report that the medium rare that the chef produced was superb... seems it is cooked on a wood grill... great. Coul;dn't fault all the fare.Thank you for taking the time to review us Trevor. We are delighted to hear that your enjoyed your dinner with us - especially since you were recommended to come here. We enjoyed the "Stressless Sunday" 5 course degustation dinner at $79 / person on Father's Day.As always the dishes are interesting & diverse & not too filling.Their organic wholemeal sourdough bread with homemade Ricotta is a great start. The only disappointments were that there was no menu to explain what the 5 dishes were & that there are no Australian or New Zealand wines available by the glass.Grazie mille Richard! We are pleased you enjoyed the Stressless Sunday menu, as it's a great way to experience some past and present dishes at Ormeggio. The whole aim of the evening is that it is the chefs way of being creative and designing a menu quite à la minute, therefore, we do not provide a menu on this particular evening. The team did explain each dish to you on the evening as this is standard and a very important procedure. As we are an Italian restaurant we do mainly provide Italian wines, however, we do have a number of Australian wines by the bottle. We hope to see you again soon.

Having visited The Sardine Room in Potts Point five years ago, I was sad it has closed; however, the owners decided to move the business to Manly and open up the Herring Room. I remained on their mailing list all this time so I knew they had moved.Five years later, I returned to Sydney and the first place I had to visit was the Herring Room. So, after five years the lovely owners Ange and Rodney recognised me and that made my evening. Not only that, I asked about a particular dessert I’d had at The Sardine Room (a Greek semolina pudding) which wasn’t on the menu at the Herring Room. Low and behold, Rodney only went home to get me some so I could have it again. Now that’s service for you. Sometimes you come across a special place and special people like Ange and Rodney. The Sardine Room lives on in the Herring Room, because the owners have kept the reputation and quality of the service and food to a very high standard and people keep coming back. It’s worth the ferry ride across from the CBD just to visit The Herring Room and be greeted by the excellent staff and lovely owners.
