Catherine Reed Cooking Classes

Reviewed By jamesciroli - Birmingham, United States

This was the most pleasant and enjoyable surprise of our entire trip to France. We booked this cooking class for Sunday and enjoyed spending the better part of the day with our host, Catherine Reed. The cooking class is very hands-on, Catherine made us feel welcome at all times. We cooked cheese soufflé, duck with mango chutney, green beans, potatoes (cooked in the duck fat) and crepes Suzette. Catherine walked us through the proper preparation but provided the reasoning behind many of the different aspects of French cooking. We couldn’t have had spent Sunday in Paris any better.

Charlotte Puckette Cooking Classes

Jump into daily life in Paris with a visit to the open-air market followed by a hands-on cooking class and a four-course lunch paired with wine. The classes take place in a renovated 18th c townhouse, located in the 7th arrondissement around the corner from the Eiffel tower and a short walk from the market. Back in the kitchen, we will prepare lunch together.

We were fortunate to have Charlotte to ourselves. She gave us a tour of the market and we went to a cheese shop that was divine. She taught us how to cook spring chickens, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, we had a cheese plate and made a chocolate fondant with caramel sauce. It was all delicious. We had complementary wine, good conversation and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We would highly recommend this to anyone interested in learning about the Parisian market, cheese and how to cook some really delicious food.
