Bulawayo is the second-largest city in Zimbabwe after the capital Harare, with, as of the ever disputed 2012 census, a population of 653,337 while Bulawayo Municipal records indicate a population of 1,200,750. This understating of population by the government is due to the marginalisation of the Matabeleland region by the government since 1980 in a bid to avail less resources. With a population of 620,000 in 1992 Bulawayo cannot have a population of 653 337 20 years later when it is exhausting its land due to housing expansion. It is in Matabeleland, 439 km (273 mi) southwest of Harare, and is now treated as a separate provincial area from Matabeleland. The capital of Matabeleland North is now Lupane, as Bulawayo is a metropolitan province.

My foot was deeply pressing on the peddle as I tried to catch up with time. I had starred my day late amd everything was coming at me faast such that I decided to skip a traditional breakfast of weetbix at home and get some urgent work done. By the time i had handled the urgent i was famished amd quickly guided myself into Cafe MnandiThe place seemed to be deserted perhaps because thw early brekafasy crowd had left as it was now around 10; i found my spot and made my order for what im told is a farmhouse breakfast? This comprised of 2 eggs, toast, a slice of tomato, sausage and butter. Being famished, I asked for extra toast and a coke to go with the meal. The meal was delivered promptly and was regimentally arranged with no attempt at added any excitement to the presentation. The meal itself tasted well though the toast had not been toasted to a crisp so to say. Otherwise it was a decent and quiet meal that got the purpose of filling me up with not much complaony?. It's a fine enough reatraunt that I feel needs to re energize itself a little but don't let that atop you from going for a breakfast as the meal cost me a total of $5-50 including the tip. Which makes it great value for breakfast on a budget

We arrived here not knowing what to expect and were very pleasantly surprised. The welcome we got was very warm and we were treated as welcomed guests throughout the evening. The service was quick and always with a smile. Fantastic steaks prepared as ordered and very well presented. Quality was excellent. One of us had the special, pork chops with salad and chips...as above!! We finished off with ice cream and chocolate sauce. The only downside was the guitarist who sat down at our table and went through two songs and then offered to sell us his CDs.We are delighted we managed to deliver an excellent service and pleasant food .We look foward to hosting you again soon .We greatly apologise for the downside,we will make sure it does not happen again in future.

Popped in for dinner with work colleagues. What a pleasant and welcome surprise. Andrea, the manager, welcomed us warmly and our waitress Yvonne was bubbly and attentive. Ordered the halumi starter and a sushi platter for one. Would have preferred the halumi to be grilled. But I did not ask (nor was offered this option). The sushi was EXCELLENT, most impressive for a small town like Bulawayo. Skipped dessert, and had a Don Pedro to end the evening. Would certainly pop in when I am next in the area.

Just visited the Earth cafe. Lovely place. Good earthshakes.I really enjoyed my pork chops with creamy mushroom sauce.Had 2 waitresses attending to us. Sadly I didn't get their names. The smaller one is really sweet. Made us feel comfortable and at home. She was very friendly. Unfortunately the other waitress was rude and I almost regretted going over, but the smaller, nicer waitress compensated for her rudeness. Might visit again next time because of the nicer waitress and the manager who was also friendly. It's a must visit for healthy meals. Just ignore the grumpy lady, bcos there are so many nicer staff there. Thank you for having your Birthday Lunch at Earth Cafe I apologise for any rudeness from any of my waitresses and assure you that the current members of staff have the customers at heart! Please come and introduce yourself to me when next you are at Earth Cafe

Both breakfast and lunch at Middy's were excellent. Impressive variety on the menu and the quality of the coffee is top notch. Most importantly, the hospitality here is above and beyond. I mentioned to Allyson that I needed to get to Vic Falls that day and she asked around town until she found me a bus in the afternoon. In the meantime, she showed me Bulawayo and gave really wonderful advice for things to do across Zimbabwe. If you're in town, you must visit.

We sought out this place as I knew it had free WiFi and we had some arrangements to make. Very comfortable surroundings, plenty of cold drinks and attentive and friendly service. I didn’t love my cheese and onion toastie, but food I saw others ordering looked very good (the burgers especially).Dear E17_KJThank you for taking the time to review Indaba. We are glad you had a good experience with us. We hope you enjoy a burger or how about trying one the gourmet sandwiches (they can even come as wraps) next time you pass through.Thank you again.RegardsRobyn
