Laguna Verde

The famous "green lake."

Reviewed By Unelma333 - Karlsruhe, Germany

This was the last stop at our 3-day Uyuni tour before reaching the Chilean border. The lake has a beautiful green colour and it is a great photo opportunity together with Licancabur volcano in the background. There were more impressive lagoons on this trip (above all Laguna Colorada), but still certainly worth a visit. Perhaps I missed the flamingos - there are none here as the water contains arsenic.

Laguna Canapa

Reviewed By 3311alabama

When we arrived to this lake, we had the pleasure of meeting a man who is living in this desolate part of desert and who has built a place to rest and a bathroom. He is also in charge to keep a good part of the road free of stones or potholes. Our guide Edgar took us there not only to admire the beauty of the Laguna but also to have a well deserved lunch time. While Edgar was preparing the lunch we had the opportunity of walking towards the lake, which was surrounded by patches of salt and snow. Since we were in winter there weren't many flamingos, but it did not matter as the beauty of the Laguna itself was enough to delight the eyes. I could not reach the edge of the lake as my 89 years old mom was with me and she was not strong enough to climb down in a safe manner. When we arrived the wind was not an issue but when we decided to head back to the resting place the wind gained strength and almost knocked us down. Luckily the worst part of the windstorm happened when we were having lunch. Once we finished, the calm had returned to this isolate and beautiful lake.

Laguna Blanca

Reviewed By JoseLMello - Union, United States

The characteristic of the white color of the water, which gave the lake its name, is caused by the high amount of minerals suspended in it. Only a narrow corridor separates the lagoon of color Blanca from the other lagoon color Green. Both are within the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Wildlife Reserve. The milky and surreal waters have incredible tones, this tour is absolutely recommendable.
