Top 7 Bodies of Water in Blue Mountains, New South Wales

December 7, 2021 Russell Mellin

The Blue Mountains are named for the delicate azure haze that lingers along the region, which is actually a fine cloud of oil emitted by eucalyptus trees. The mystical mountains are a labyrinth of plateaus, gorges and gum trees. Check out the Katoomba Scenic Railway (the steepest railway in the world), the Jenolan Caves and the Giant Staircase nature walk.

Wentworth Falls Lake

I have been many times to the mountains but did not know about this lake. It is a gentle walk around a man-made lake that includes some wetland areas. The facilities are great for picnicking & barbecuing & the kids are taken care of with 2 play areas that cater for different age groups.
