The first thing you see when you enter is a sign, "Wait to be seated". We waited for a few minutes before anyone even entered the room. After we were seated, it took a while for our food to arrive. The dinner salad was okay, but the wings were delicious. My reason for not giving a better score really has to do with the slow service. Maybe I shouldn't expect quicker service in a small town, but I do expect it.

We started dining here when they first opened. The food was good, and it had a fun atmosphere. Then last year the service was pretty bad, but we liked hanging out there, so we went once in awhile. We went again over Memorial Day weekend and decided it was our last visit. The prime rib was so dry I sent it back (no telling how old it was). The server gave my husband a beer that tasted like apples. When he pointed it out to him, the kid said he does not know a lot about beer, but that it was a Bud Light. So, he just drank it. The food quality is so poor that the kids even said something; it is no longer worth it to hang out on the patio, have a few drinks, and listen to the music. The place is always understaffed, which we expect being that we are up in the mountains. But when the food is THAT bad ... we just cannot give them our business anymore.

Chili's had this confusing sub-menu that says any three for 10 bucks. It is very misleading seeming like three appetizers for $10. We did however enjoy our lunch here. Service was slow after our confusion was cleared up, however an appetizer, soup and fresh crisp salad were very good.

Creekside Steakhouse and Tavern

We were staying at Christopher Creek Lodge and you can walk here for a nice evening meal. The place was not busy but there was a steady stream of people - we took a booth at the back. The decor is a little dated (think 70's)The service was great between the bar tender and the lady who washes the dishes. Great chat with them both getting a bit of local flavor and information. They were both fabulous to talk to. We had the chicken friend steak - one of best tasted - and the prime rib which was beautifully tender and came with a baked potato and lovely cowboy beans. A little on the expensive side but on the other hand you have to look where you are - there are 2 restaurants in Christopher Creek and one was closed for the winter so this is THE place to go at this time of year and we would go back again next time we are at the cabins.

The baby back ribs were extremely tender and the BBQ sauce was tangy and a little sweet. Delicious. Homemade biscuit was moist and served with honey and/or butter. The shoestring French fries are not my favorite but were tasty. The smoked brisket was plentiful and perfectly cooked. Same BBQ sauce. The Kohl slaw was different. Creamy withRaisins with a sweet flavor. The baked beans were ok but not special. Both dinners were large portions and we took home leftovers

Went here for dinner based on reviews. Large menu so there's something for everyone. Started with a plate of onion rings/strings which were amazing, freshly made for sure. Then the patty melt and turkey avocado sandwich. Throughout people kept stopping by asking if everything was okay, refilling water, etc. Food was just terrific., prices reasonable. Really nice vibe. Definitely recommend.

This restaurant was recommended by friends who eat here whenever in Payson. We came for lunch after an early morning hike. There was plenty of seating available although it was full by the time we left. Server took our drink order (waters) and then disappeared. Two other servers stopped by to take our drink order and we explained that we just needed some water. It took over 10 min to get two waters. Staff seemed a bit disorganized in that multiple servers were coming by to take orders that had just been given to someone else. We weren’t terribly hungry so each ordered the quesadilla appetizer (one with beef, one with chicken), and an order of onion rings. Food came in a decent time frame. Onion rings were good and quesadilla very full of ingredients. We had to take left overs home. No staff stopped by to see how our food was and we finally got a water refill just before we left. Restroom wasn’t great but it wasn’t dirty. Since we heard about this place because of its burgers, (quite the sandwich selection!) I would return to try their more signature items.
