Things to do in Walcha
We dined here for a birthday treat and couldn't have been happier with the meals. The service was excellent and we didn't wait very long for the meals to come. The ribs were an excellent choice for a meal.
Based on previous reviews, We called in recently for dinner to break up a journey. What a mistake. Calamari rings were actually seafood composite mashed and shaped into rings, chicken strips were elongated nuggets still half frozen, steak average and undercooked, and garlic prawns were in a cream sauce with tails still on- messy to eat. Over $100 for less than the standard available at Aldi. Not impressed!!! The following night we ate at the Nemingah Tavern and ordered very similar dishes and paid half as much. Much better option! It is such a shame to write this review as we love Walcha and love supporting local business however, Walcha Road Hotel is worth bypassing.
Had the worse pizza I've ever seen, and only ate it because I was starving. My husband thought he was getting a chicken curry, but it was just curry sauce with chunks of chicken dying in it. And we paid $30 for the privilege.

We dropped into Cafe Amor for a coffee. There is lots of seating both inside and out. Inside there are booths on both sides and table seating in the middle. The place is decorated in 60's style with cars, bikes and Elvis being featured. The owner is a friendly chap. He took our order of coffee and we also decided to have a Byron Bay Cookie, date and pecan which was yummy. The service was great and the coffee was hot but unfortunately was on the average side. Not quite enough coffee to give it a full flavour. There was a nice touch of a complimentary mint to go with it.

Decent and wholesome pub food. We had a table of 10 booked in for a post-Christmas family lunch and we were pleasantly surprised by our time here. Food came in good time and as ordered and by the end of the meal most plates were empty (even though they were big servings).I had the scotch fillet steak - cooked as ordered and they allowed me to mix things up and get chips and veg (because veg > salad). The interior is basic, to be sure, but it was clean and safe.Would recommend and return when next in town. Great job!Thank you for your review! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Dropped in for lunch. Was mesmerised by all the memorabilia. Menu was simple with some local country charm. Food was hot and filling, good value for money. Happy to visit again.

Had the best breakfast and coffee with the family in Cafe Graze. Highly recommend the corn fritters, the pumpkin, avocado & eggs and also the egg, bacon and tomato breaks burger. Well worth a visit and the also have a selection of high quality homewares. We will definitely return again.
