We travelled by ferry from Docklands to Portarlington mid week. A smooth ride over a calm bay set us down in the pretty town of Portarlington where there are a range of shops and eateries as well as walking tracks to neighbouring towns. Ferry staff were most welcoming and friendly and the service was excellent. Highly recommend this trip.

Southern Cross Station

Southern Cross Station is a good looking station. Trains leave for Adelaide and Sydney, and V/Line trains leave for regional Victoria. Suburban trains transit here. The Sky Bus leaves for Tullamarine Airport from here. It's a lot better looking than the old Spencer St Station.

Public Transportation Victoria

In Melbourne for a week and travelled on the Trains and Trams with a Myki card which we purchased from the train station near ouraccomadation. Getting around the city was really easy with the free travel on trams within the CBD. They came with amazing frequency and we had a map which made it really easy to get where we wanted to go hoping off and on. We took the train to Ballarat and bus to Sovereign HIll. The trains were punctual and buses met the train and vice versa. Also took the train to Brighton to see the bathing sheds. We were really impressed with the public transport.
