Very nicely laid out design for kids, adults and seniors to stay chilled and relaxed. I can compare it some good places in London and France and easily I can say this is clearly green, cleaner, and less crowded. Utena city has around 30,000 inhabitants, so you find lots of breathing space all around. Fountain is a fantastic cooling place for the kids to enjoy, sometimes parents do enjoy there, too :)

Poco fuori Utena, seguendo le sponde del lago, si arriva al vialetto che porta a questa collina, ribattezzata "del matrimonio" per le sculture in legno che vi campeggiano e che riportano ad un matrimonio d'altri tempi, con sposo di una certa eta', sposa giovane, suoceri, testimoni, ecc. L'insieme è stato realizzato da diversi artisti lituani a partire dal 1987 ed è ora luogo dove spesso e volentieri i locali chiedono di celebrare il loro matrimonio. Da vedere!

Utena is a capital of Eastern Aukštaitija and one of the oldest towns of Lithuania that was mentioned for first time in a letter of the King Mindaugas in 1261. Utena is situated in an exceptionally picturesque location – amid the lakes Dauniškis and Vyžuonaitis. For the 750th anniversary of the town a unique attraction – shining and playing Fountain with water screen - was equipped in Lake Dauniškis. Regular visitors of Utena can notice that during the recent years the town has been visibly beautified. Some new squares and cosy parks were established, streets are being rapidly improved. One of them is Dauniškis Lake park.

Finally, there is a place in Utena to watch movies! I was pleasantly surprised that Film Home TAURAPILIS brought well-known film festivals such as Inconvenient Films or Vilnius Film Festival "Kino pavasaris" to my hometown, thus I didn't need to go to capital in order to see newest, critically acclaimed, intellectual films.

Chiesa con pianta a croce greca con due torri, una cupola ed un alto campanile in mattoni. La chiesa è bella, ma è anche interessante dare un'occhiata nel giardino che la circonda: su un muro sono incastonate centinaia di lapidi con i nomi degli abitanti di Utena deportati in Siberia e poi deceduti.
