Wingrens Dogsafaris

Reviewed By eenelfje

I booked the 7km dogsafari with Wingrens through Levi Tourist Office. On the day of our safari the lady came to pick us up to go to the farm. If I can remember her name was Maria and she is a lovely lady who told us so much about her dogs and answered my questions I had about the dogs with so much passion and love for their dogs. I was surprised that the dogsafari was a small group and they dont do large groups. This was a very pleasant surprise and such a good decision of them to do their safaris with small groups. The dogsafari went through breathtaking landscapes and the scenery was stunning. We went over frozen lakes, forrest etc. The 7km distance was perfect. Not too short and not too long especially with a child and the fact that during the dogsafari its freezing cold. 10 Km would be ok too but personally I would not do more km's with a child. After the safari we could cuddle the dogs and went to the Kota hut to bbq marshmellows and sausages on the open fire and hot berry juice. After warming up the lady brought us back to the Levi Tourist Office which was the pick up and dropp off point. This dogsafari was the highlight of our trip and my daughters favourite activity! Untill today she tells me she wished she could live on the farm to help with the dogs. When we go back to Levi I would definately book a dogsafari with Wingrens again. Thank you for such a wonderfull experience!! And I hope you are going to win the championship this year with the dogsledrace!

Levi Huskypark

Levi Huskypark offers different length huskyrides with over 20 years experience. On the guided tour in the park quests will meet and hear stories about sledge dogs' history and everyday life, animal training and movieanimals such as reindeers, arctic foxes and wolfhybrids. Huskypark is open around the year, on wintertime huskyrides and guided tours and on summertime guided tours and nature programs.

We simply turned up and they let us into a tour group without the slightest concern/issue. There were 75 dogs in total - quite a pack. The guide took us around and talked us though the various pens; all culminating in a sled ride. Great fun, really nice guides & interesting. Thoroughly recommended. P.S. whilst the guides kept on reminding the parents not to let their children put fingers into certain cages (the dogs are not yet trained), it was staggering how many ignored this. Hopefully Finnish H&S law will mean that the parents are told they are to blame.......

We had a fantastic day here, so much to do and its just the right size, not too big, so we found we had enough time to do everything we wanted from a reindeer ride, tobogganing, ginger bread making, snowmobile ride, fun with the elves and of course this ended with a visit to see Santa who lived up to all our expectations! A breathtaking trip and a magical memorable experience for my family of 4.
