As a Coogee native, my sister & I Learned how to swim here, thanks to Dad who threw us in she 3 without warning. Been coming back ever since. The tourists & noisy transients unfortunately have caught wind of it but being a local institution they don't get away with much bad behaviour down here. Came here on a January Sunday when the mercury was pushing 41 degrees and it didn't disappoint. Pool was a bit rough & tidal, but that adds to the fun. Watch the kiddies in the rough! Lifeguards on duty but they're not babysitters, so remember that's your job to look out for them. Clubhouse snacks are pretty basic but reasonably priced (bring your own picnic if you like, but no. Ooze allowed) & it's a short
Walk to coogee beach proper. Give it a try. You won't regret it. You can even get married down here in their new function centre, featured on Married At First Sight!

I have just completed my Open Water scuba diving qualification with Pro Dive Coogee and I couldn't recommend them more highly. I was unexpectedly anxious when it came to using the equipment and breathing underwater (I'd done an introductory dive years ago with no issues) however I am now a certified and confident diver.
My instructor (Michael) was thorough, firm and very funny. On morning one of the practical sessions, I was so overwhelmed at the equipment and everything I had to remember. By the last dive on day two, setting up my equipment was a well honed process with memory triggers for every safety check. From my observation, the other two instructors (Nick & Chris) on my course were equally great with their teams.
The experience wasn't all Sunshine and roses because learning to dive is a serious business and there is a lot to learn. However the Pro Dive team make it the best experience it can possibly be. If you're thinking about it, do it!
I look forward to writing more reviews about Pro Dive as I start to explore more of our amazing underwater world!

Pay a gold coin now - nice ladies only private rock pool - not so deep - take care not to slip or hit your toes off the rocks - the waves come over the end of the pool

It was my first trip to the land down under. I went public. I boarded a bus from Central Station to Clovelly. The view was awesome! The air was fresh! It was an amazing coastal walk from Clovelly to Coogee passing through Dunningham Reserve. It was picturesque. Importantly the area was clean. I had a minute of silence at the memorial dedicated to remember the victims and the lives lost during the 2002 Bali Bombing. Rest In Peace.
