Cerro Sechin

Reviewed By Llywinda - Lima, Peru

All of these reviews are actually talking about Cerro Sechin, not Sechin Bajo. Sechin Bajo is an interesting site archaeologically, but not much to visit. Cerro Sechin is one of the great archaeological monuments of Peru. This is where you find the extraordinary carved figures in bas relief representing the sometimes gory results of warfare, including parts of the defeated as well as the impressive full figures of victorious warriors. Cerro Sechin is easy to reach from the highway or by quick cab ride from Casma. There is a small museum and picnic area adjacent to the incomparable ruins.

Playa Tortugas

Reviewed By Daniel E - Washington DC, District of Columbia

Tortugas looks like a run-down two-star resort somewhere in Egypt's backwaters. The beach and the desert join rather seamlessly. The heat is horrendous (did I mention the desert?), and although food options are plenty, most restaurants close early. Not recommended at all.

Chankillo

Reviewed By Carlo B - Huaraz

Probably constructed in the 4th century BC, this archaeological complex gathers not only a probable fort on a hilltop and residential areas, but also the amazing Thirteen Towers of Chankillo. These towers mark the different sunrise and sunset positions from the summer solstice to the winter one. Really worth a visit.

Playa Las Gemelas

La playa se encuentra al norte de la playa tortugas, pueden llegar caminando o en camioneta. es una playa limpia y tranquila, es una delicia porque no hay muchas personas. Asegúrense de llevar cosas básicas ya que es caleta y no hay servicios.
