Ever wanted to immerse yourself in the Aussie outback but have Asia's stunning rainforests and Africa's wild savannah right around the corner? Perth Zoo, with over 1500 animals and some of the most beautiful gardens in Western Australia, is your ultimate day out. Open every day of the year, Perth Zoo inspires and directs all work to save wildlife. Go for a bushwalk and discover the best of Australia's wildlife including koalas, emus, wallabies, kangaroos and our enormous saltwater crocodile, Simmo. As many grandparents will be aware - it's the school holidays when we all try to think up treats for our grandchildren. We took ours to the zoo yesterday and it proved to be a day we all enjoyed. The zoo was full of children having fun exploring the various areas with the African Savannah, the Asian Rainforest, the Nocturnal House and the penguins particular favourites. The playground was also very popular and after they had a ride on the heritage carousel we all left happy. The facilities at the zoo are constantly being upgraded and it's both an educational and fun place for a day out for the whole family.
