Water games for hot days and plenty of activities for all ages kids. Best of all its located next to our beautiful wetlands and you will always see some local wildlife. Please be careful when driving around the area - the are often bandicoots, turtles or lizards on the roads and they cannot move fast enough to save themselves from cars.

The Azelia Ley Homestead Museum

Reviewed By KylieIsTravelling - Perth, Australia

I happened to have visited the Azelia Ley Homestead on one of the days and times it was opened (it has limited opening days and hours), and was very glad I did. There’s so much history here, not just about the original occupant but also of the wider Manning Park and Cockburn area. They had magazines and newspapers from circa World War 2 and it was fascinating to read the articles from this era, as well as see the homestead and history of the area from the time it was built. Well worth a visit - time it right for when the museum is open.

Cockburn Ice Arena

Located South of Perth in Bibra Lake, Cockburn Ice Arena is Perth's largest ice sports venue, boasting the state's only full Olympic sized ice rink. The arena offers an ice skating rink, an ice hockey/sports rink, cafe, pro shop, bar and licensed restaurant. Ice skating session times alternate between school term and school holidays, with more sessions being added for the school holiday period - there are usually over 20 sessions to choose from during the school holidays. Ice skating at Cockburn Ice Arena is a great option for a family weekend activity, and the rink is an ideal place to take the kids on the school holidays for some good healthy fun. Ice skating lessons and ice hockey lessons are also offered, and are run in conjunction with the school term, 4 terms per year.

Last July it was my birthday and my family took me to the rink for ‘a bit of nostalgia’. Well. Being Canadian, I was tremendously surprised by the fact that the rink had put on a Canada Day event...ice hockey, of course...the first game I’d been to in 40+ years! Not only that, but the All Star teams were Montreal Canadiens vs the Toronto Maple Leafs! Montreal has always been my team, and for me to watch mortal enemies battle to the death was just HEAVEN. 10-2. Kicked Toronto’s backside! Oh, what a night! Me in my Montreal hockey sweater, drinking Canadian beer, enjoying the game(ok, it wasn’t up to NHL standard, but it was hockey...), me jumping up and down screaming my head off at the players and watching my family slowly freeze whilst sitting in the stands...me, of course, knowing full well what a rink temperature is like, rugged up and loving it. The venue is purpose-built and very good. Food and beverages are great, atmosphere is fantastic. Go again? YES!!!!

Manning Park

Reviewed By RonandGayeH - Perth, Australia

We are so lucky to live so close to this wonderful oasis in the Manning Park precinct of Hamilton Hill. The city of Cockburn do a wonderful job of maintaining this superb natural space to the benefit of so many people. The birdlife is spectacular, the trees magnificent, and the wetlands an asset that must be preserved. The only negative is the number of selfish dog owners who ignore the well displayed rules and allow their animals to roam free, often chasing the permanent residents (the hundreds of birds of many species).
