Missouri River Basin Lewis and Clark Visitor Center

Walk in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark and Seaman the dog on our 79-acre property. Step aboard an authentic full sized 55-foot replica of the Keelboat used by the explorers over 200 years ago. Relive the adventure by exploring our interactive exhibits: burrow with the Prairie Dogs, run with the American Bison, be surprised by our ferocious Grizzly Bear. Listen to the calls of every bird that was documented along the expedition. Pull the oars on the pirogue. Avoid the snags as you race down the Missouri River with our newest exhibit. Go into the 48 foot in diameter Plains Indian Earth Lodge. Follow our trails to the Missouri River Overlook and the Birding Amphitheater. Bring a snack lunch to enjoy at our outdoor picnic area!

This is a hidden gem! If you have any interest at all in Lewis and Clark's travels, you should see this. We spent about two hours here. There are three floors of exhibits and some trails outside, including one to an overlook of the Missouri River. Very nice 30-minute documentary film as well. Highly recommended.

This was an interesting museum to visit. It is a trip back in time. We had a guided tour of the place and then were free to look around and check out the various video kiosks that further explained the windmills.

Perfect place to shop for a special gift (my wife particularly likes the selection of beautiful Polish pottery), one of a kind items, and I can have a beer at the east side of their shop. You know, that's a tremendously thoughtful combination. Well done!!
