Top 6 Symphonies in Ohio, United States

November 21, 2021 Flossie Demartino

If you are looking for an active place to stay with world-class attractions, Ohio’s major cities can satisfy any vacation desire. Each offers its own distinct flavor of fun, from professional sports – Bengals (Cincinnati), Cavaliers (Cleveland) and Indians (Cleveland again) – to museums, outdoor activities and more. One of the most famous is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. If football is your thing, don’t miss the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. For the science-minded, visit the meat eaters at the Carnivore Conservation Center in the Wilds near Cambridge, dedicated to the breeding and scientific study of endangered mid-sized carnivores. Kids will also love Planet Snoopy in Sandusky or the Columbus Zoo’s Zoombezi Bay Waterpark and Jack’s Landing rides.

Toledo Symphony Orchestra

Reviewed By patrickmL2945SA - Montpelier, United States

We recently saw the Brahms v. Radiohead mashup. It was as awesome as I had hoped it would be! This is the type of innovative programming the Toledo Symphony has been doing for many years now. Mixed media presentations, orchestra and ballet, you name it. Too many northwest Ohioans do not know what a treasure we have available to us. We drive from an hour away to take in a show, and it's always well worth it. But don't take my word for it, every guest conductor complements the caliber of musicianship of the members and their dedication to their craft and the community. Do yourself a favor; check out the upcoming performances of classics, pops, jazz, chamber, whatever you think you may be interested in. Support the arts!

Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall

Reviewed By Peniel414 - Cleveland, United States

One of the world’s best orchestras...what else is there to say. Even when directed by visiting conductors, the Cleveland Orchestra sound shines thorough. And Severance Hall is elegantly beautiful and acoustically superb - regardless where you sit you will feel the power or the softness of this orchestra. With an early dinner, either at The Hall or restaurants nearby, along with preconcert lecture, and enclosed parking, you can make an entire evening of wonderful entertainment and convenience.
