If you've ever eaten at a Golden Corral in the American midwest, then you will have an idea of the ambiance of Steak Gusto, a popular family restaurant concept in the Skylark portfolio. The menu is similar to what is available at the regular Gusto restaurants but, as the name implies, Steak Gusto focuses on meat -- steaks, hamburger and pork. All you can eat (Viking) salad bar is included, meat is served hot on a teppan grill plate and while prices are a little more expensive than a regular Gusto, you can find a meal at a reasonable price and with the salad, dessert, and bread, it will fill you up. This one seemed to be especially busy on the Friday evening we visited, but the line at the salad bar moved quickly. Drink bar is also available for an extra charge.If you are hungry and are craving meat and don't mind sharing the restaurant with many families with young kids, then this might be a good choice.

Steakhouse Bronco Billy was a hunger-driven impulse stop in the middle of a wandering bike ride that found me on Route 16 in Hachioji. I had never heard of this restaurant before and expected to find it full on a Friday night, but I was seated right away in a row of empty tables. There seemed to be quite a few tables in the restaurant, which was quite spacious. The background music was American music from the fifties. I ordered a 150 gram steak set, with one of their smallest and least expensive steaks. The menu also has less expensive hamburger sets. The steak set (a little over 2,000 yen after tax) came with an all-you-can-eat salad bar and a large bowl of corn soup. The steak came on a black iron platter with some vegetables and a bowl of rice (they offer a range of serving sizes for the rice), along with a Japanese-style sauce in a sauce boat. The salad bar was somewhat limited; it included green salad, a bowl of large chunks of tomato, potato salad, cold spaghetti, corn, coffee jelly, fruit jelly, sliced watermelon, and some other cold dishes. The condiments included bacon bits, croutons, and parmesan cheese. The table condiments included small hard pickled plums. There is a drink bar for a reasonable price, but I didn't use it. The service was prompt in the beginning, but the waiter didn't check to see if I needed anything after he brought my order. and the restaurant, including the restroom, was clean. The kitchen staff in the open kitchen wore rubber gloves. The restaurant has parking. Lunch is less expensive, but the salad bar may be extra. The food was average, but I left full. If you go, you may want to check the website for coupons.

Horse meat is bit chewy but has a unique texture and sweet taste. The sashimi was remarkable with soy sauce and 4 finely chopped dip ingredients (wasabi, radish, garlic, ginger). The steak was also excellent with vinegar wine sauce and wasabi. Waiters and chefs didn't speak English but universal food sign worked well. Nice people. Awesome experience.

First time in a long time! From the entrance, it's very pretty old-japanese style building and garden. The food superb, staff very attentive, atmosphere serene. I decided to become a regular :) dessert and coffee is on second floor after the course. Recommended to everyone!
