Murchison Museum

There is a lot of interesting history here - A LOT. Almost too much as it is quite overwhelming and not all of it has explanations. Worth a visit and please leave a donation to help them out.

This is the regional museum of Nelson and Tasman. It is New Zealands oldest museum, started 175 years ago. Learn about the region, its people, history and environments. The temporary gallery features changing exhibitions.

This was a very nice smaller museum. Awesome history and lovely stories. My wife and I particularly liked the one around the elephants. Lots about classic New Zealand. The museum definitely punches above its weight. When we went, they also had the moon exhibition on which was great to see. Definitely worth dropping in while in town.
