We went on a Friday night and it was dead quite - should have been our first clue. The drinks were wonderful and the steak perfect. The service was good but special requests were not addressed (not sure if it was her or the kitchen). Asked for GF crackers - arrived after a 2nd request; requested no tomatoes yet the dish was laden with tomatoes. The lobster risotto was average to fair. The cheese board was delicious. Halibut was good. But overall it was ridiculously overpriced. So many other options to choose from in Portland so I would recommend you keep looking.

My husband and I came here for dinner. Service was very attentive. We started our meal with bread on the table served with a salmon spread that was very tasty. We shared a mussel appetizer which we really enjoyed. My husband had scallops and I had halibut. I thought the halibut was moist and delicious, served with nicely steamed string beans and roasted fingerling potatoes. My husband had the scallops with the same sides. He didn’t love the taste of his, said they were ok. Overall, nicely prepared food and excellent service.Thank you very much for visiting us! I am sorry your husband wasn't thrilled with his scallops dish. If you ever feel your meal isn't meeting your expectations, please don't be afraid to let your server know. We'll do everything we can in the moment to make sure you have an outstanding experience! With that said, I am glad that you loved the halibut and mussels, and we look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Mi Sen Noodle Bar

We had heard good things about Mi Sen and on an early Saturday evening when several restaurants still had not opened we decided to give it a try. It was frigid outside and walking into the warm restaurant was pleasing, despite the cold we did not mind the window seat. Several tables were taken when we arrived and more people were filing in as we departed. For this Saturday they had a special appetizer: Chormuang, An ancient and savory thai snack known to be rare and royal in Thailand. The name translates to “violet bouquet” from its flower shape and purple color from the butterfly pea flower. The evening fillings were: shrimp, chicken, peanut, onion, palm sugar and garlic. $6 for 3 It is absolutely a must, super delicious and very beautiful, almost too pretty to eat. Score 5*Other tastings: - Thai fries, buttercup squash battered with red curry seasoning served with 2 dipping sauces: red curry mayo and sweet chilli sauce. Sweet and delish. Score 4*- Pan Moh, 4 steamed rice crepes filled with pork and peanut, garnished with cilantro and crispy garlic. We were missing a dipping sauce and found a good pairing with the sweet chilli sauce that came with the fries. Score 3*- Pork Panang curry served over rice with steamed vegetables. Although the meat has the delicious sauce around it, this is not the typical saucy panang dish, and we greatly wished for more sauce to stir into the rice and coat the vegetables. The server told us that the way the dish is made we could not order more sauce by itself. We highlyrecommend that more sauce be incorporated! Score 3*- Beef Khao Soi, slow cooked beef in rich and creamy curry served over rice noodles, garnished with crispy noodle, red onion, scallions, cilantro and lime, with a side of pickled cabbage. The generous amount of meat was very tender and the sauce delicious. Score 4*The service was efficient, friendly and service minded. (* We rate the dishes we try on a scale from 1-5, 5 being outstanding.)

My wife and I dined at DiMillo's prior to her taking a flight from Portland Jetport. First we love Portland. It is a vastly underrated city. We stopped in at Dimillos. They were very busy. The courteous folks at the front desk told us it would be about 45 minutes. OK by us. They gave us one of the paging gizmos and we headed for the bar. The bar folk were very friendly, efficient and knew theri business. Our Gizmo went off after about 10 minutes and we were directed to the main dining room. The room is huge, darkish and crowded. Our server, however, was right on top of things and was attending us within a few minutes. My wife had the Chicken Parmesan and I hade the Prime rib. Both dinners were perfection as was the bread, wine and salads. The price was reasonable too! All around a great experience.

Warm and welcoming, crowed and congenial, this is the place for buckets of steamers and a platter of lobster. Try not to come during prime time when the wait could be lengthy. We joined the convivial diners at 5:20 pm and were seated about 10 minutes later. Server was delightful. Huge bucket of steamers (and that was the medium size), 1.25 lobster with corn and more steamers, piping hot and plentiful. Just the type of destination you will find mid Maine but you don't need to drive. Wonderful meal in a perfect setting. Hidden from the tourist crowd, you will need to hunt for this find.

My wife and I visited the last Friday night in September, never having visited this area before. We were seated promptly, outside as requested. It took ten minutes for the server, Alicia, to pay a visit, take our drink, dinner and appetizer order. When she did, she seemed distracted like she'd rather be elsewhere. After another ten minutes, she appeared with my wife's lobster dinner accoutrements, and our appetizer, calamari, which was ice cold. She seemed perplexed that our drinks had not been served.....she then brought them a few minutes later. The entrees arrived soon after and were hot, but visits to us to periodically check for drinks or water were few and far between. It seems like the kitchen produces good food, but there is a logistical issue getting it to the table at peak quality, and, server attention to detail is lacking. For a meal that will run $100 with drinks, there are likely better options.
