Caravela Portuguese Restaurant

A unique dining experience in Gaborone, centrally located in the heart of the city in a quiet residential neighborhood. Caravela offers three distinct dining areas to choose from - a gorgeous outdoor garden to enjoy summertime lunch and quiet evening dinners, a bar dining area with a casual ambiance and warm fire in the winter months and an inside, air-conditioned dining area for those business meals or special occasions. Portuguese cuisine is served with seafood being the house specialty. The menu is varied with choices of beef, pork, chicken, lamb and vegetarian offerings. Main entree prices begin at P69. All food is prepared fresh on site and may be customized to your individual tastes and diet. Large groups can be accommodated with quick service for those needing to return to the office. Take away food may be ordered as well as platters for office meetings. Friendly service in a comfortable atmosphere.

I have had many lunches and dinners here. The staff are always friendly and attentive. The menu is extensive and I would recommend the seafood. A good wine selection. Although more expensive than some restaurants it is good value for excellent cuisine.

Sanitas Restaurant

One of my favourite treats while in Gaborone, Botswana, was to walk around the Sanitas Nursery while my food was being prepared at the Sanitas Restaurant. The food is excellent, service prompt and friendly and best of all, they have a wide range of gluten-free dishes, including delicious pizza.

The staff were extremely well informed and friendly. Popped in for a takeaway and ended up adding is a few muffins. Extremely busy over lunch, lots of locals but worth a visit is you are passing through Gaborone.

Embassy

We came here on a Saturday evening and had a fantastic experience.
We ordered one Paneer Methi Malai (72.00BWP), one Paneer Mattar Bhurji (72.00BWP), one steamed jeera rice (33.00BWP), one potato kulcha (40.00BWP), and one mango lassi (35.00BWP).
Food was absolutely delicious and perfectly spiced.
Service was friendly and attentive.
Ambiance could improve: perhaps some Indian music and more Indian decor (?)
Overall, highly recommended.

Main Deck

Reviewed By EnyaSeguin - Basel, Switzerland

This place could be good for meetings because it's in a nice, accessible and safe location of the city. But the music is too loud!
The food and service is great. Everything is well priced :) The recommendations I could give is to turn the music down. The disco music is great... but perhaps not at 9.00am when people are coming in for coffee meetings. Perhaps this was not the targeting market, but unfortunately there are always loads of people having meetings and with their laptops! So, leverage that market regardless! Another suggestion is to the waiters: please don't stand at customers' tables and wait for them to stop talking or interrupt them to mention that you would like them to pay since you are going out to lunch...! Bit unprofessional

The Daily Grind

Artisan Coffee House offering wholesome simple food and amazing Coffee.

Reviewed By Emily R - Gaborone

The menu is café type food and well presented. Staff are very friendly and for the most part efficient. The venue is centrally located and it is a stone's throw from the Main Mall. The meals are reasonably priced. The place has a warm ambiance and when the place is full, its not unusual for the customers to share tables. An added plus is that the Daily Grind is now open on Saturday morning.
My only gripe is that on my last visit I went there for breakfast and then later on went there for an early dinner. Both times I ordered a pot of tea. The pot I received in the morning was much bigger than the one I received in the evening albeit for the same price. It will be good to have some consistency in that regard.
