We went to the poundage to take a look. It is a lovely lake with a walkway all the way around. The views towards the mountains are great even though the mountain was hard to see as control burn were being conducted in the area. We went to the western side before going round to the town side. Here there is a small area suitable for launching kayaks. There is also a lovely picnic area and kids play area.

Mount Beauty offers a number of great riding tracks from easy to more adventurous grading. They have a MTB just outside the city centre which we were lucky enough to recently watch competitions being held during January. Mt Beauty has even a cool bmx track for the younger kids. Mt Beauty is also the gateway to Falls Creek which has a lot to offer for MTB enthusiasts, with even weekend shuttle bus service on weekends during the summer period.
