This restored Maori Pa, or fortified hilltop village, is a good walk with some interesting perspectives on the way people lived in the 1500's. The car park is big enough for the few people who venture here, but with very little shade on a hot day! The walk through the various levels of the Pa is signed, with a few plaques with useful notes. We took two hours to walk the whole way back to the car park, but then, we are in our late 70's so don't go fast! A very good afternoon's visit
