Atascadero is part of the San Luis Obispo - Atascadero - Paso Robles metropolitan area. This lake is located in town, and what a treat it is to have such a great place to stroll, run, or ride your bike surrounded by calming water. The entire walk around the lake is about a mile - but, it’s so relaxing you won’t even notice how far you’ve walked.

Come by here once a year on way to San Luis Obispo. The Zoo is always changing and improving. They have a new Red Panda exhibit and the Prehensile Porcupines have a new out of cage habitat.

We went to the Sunken Gardens area, which is by the historic City Hall of Atascadero We returned at night as the historic city hall is beautiful to see at night. We spoke to some others who were also there to photograph the building.
